i wrote this years ago

never did anything with it more than keep it in my head realy

..........................

i woke up from a dream
you dont you just how real it seemed
you and me in the shade
and we had it made

i get up out of our bed
turn on the lights
they hurt my head
as i think of
what love was
and what it does

now i cant eat
and i cant sleep
i cant luagh
and i cant weep
no i just cant
seem to find my way

i cant love
and i cant trust
i cant seem to do
all the things i must
dont ask me
i dont even know the day

*****************

now go get famous and send me back stage passes limo ride
ect
ya know
karma
have fun if you can play with them go for it
they just popped back in my head as i ask my self
you need something
anything to go from

there
peace

Seek Inspiration.

What I mean by this is for example, Trey stayed in a farmhouse for a week that inspired the song "farmhouse".

I think that you are trying to write from the head, rather than the heart, WFF.
It doesn't work like that, dude - as you probably know :)

I dabble in dark poetry, because it's where my head is, but I still write from the heart.

Just start with a simple feeling, then expand upon it; for example.
"I drove my car moved along the road"
expanded
"The car kicked up trails of dusty discontent, passing trees and fields as it went, and only the clouds in the sky, bear witness to the tears that I cry."

I like your verse alot too, NWM...pain can be the greatest inspiration - bizarre :)

i used to write a bunch of crazyyy shit when i was on trippin, but dude, first just get the lyrics, then you guys can put the music around that. when you write just dont think of it as having to fit in a category. once you have the lyrics, you can work with that.

In the land of the gauching skiving sun
Their bodies are in the room, lad
Never an honest days work is done
They call it the Tomblands

No, they're never gonna get me no
Never gonna get me no
Never gonna get me no

Fifteen holes in the dealer's chest
Yo ho ho, he was a mini martell man

Pieces of eight in the jukebox
Didn't wanna be the one to tell you
She was only fourteen
Sussed out your dirty sordid little scene

No, never gonna get me no
Never gonna get me no
Never gonna get me no

I've been writing songs my whole life. I start with music, and let the lyrics fit the song.. just my thing. Sometimes I'll listen to something I usually don't, and try to play it, too. Like listening to some jazz/synth stuff will lead me into a whole different scale than I was thinking, you know?
