I'm in the 8th week of my indica hydro grow. so far the plants are 3 feet tall (after topping at 2 feet), very green, and are starting to grow outwards rather than up. the only bad thing is that the lower leaves aren't getting enough light, so they curl up.
my questions are:
1) is Metal Halide lighting Ok for the flowering phase?
2) Should i worry about the base leaves? (get more lights, etc)
3) what's your favorite way to cure indica?
any help is appreciated!

8th week of vegetative? or have they started to flower?
Im sure metal halide lighting would be fine during flowering, but i do know that high pressure sodium's light spectrum is better for the flowering phase.
You could probably get some supplemental lighting, like fluorescent tubes for the bottom leaves that are not getting light... Or try tying leaves above the ones that are not getting light to try to get some lighting on them

NO. That's why they are growing out. You need red cfl or hps. which could also work for vegging.
2) Should i worry about the base leaves? (get more lights, etc)
No. worry about base buds. If there is a leaf covering a bud or bud-to-be, bend it, tie it, break it, or last resort, remove it.
3) what's your favorite way to cure indica? Hang it upside down until dry, then smoke as needed. I haven't ever found the need to cure anything, but I know many do. Did you check the curing info in the faqs?

you can flower with MH without a problem bro, HPS just puts out more lumens but that doesnt mean MH wont get the job done. HPS + MH is the best though combined together = P

HPS are on the way, and and I'll keep an eye on the buds-to-be. It's not quite flowering yet, but I'm pretty sure the preflowering phase started (calyxes).

it's not an issue of 'lumens', it is the lamp's specific color-temperature rating, that determines the better flowering characteristics ... in other words, the orange-ish hue of a HPS lamp, mimics the reddening of the light-waves from the late-Summer/Fall sun going down ... the spectrum shifts as it enters the earth's atmosphere at an angle ,,, 'blue' for vegging, 'red' for flowering ... mixing the two is fine, also ... :smokin:

Exactly.
And mixing is best. Just use more blue in veg and more red in flower.
