This is just for fun,I googled all the pictures.

miracle grow potting soil (yes I know, oh well, too late now, i can change it when I transplant)

5 26 watt warm cfls

vinegar+water dripping in baking soda for carbon dioxide

Some paper cups

That's it for now.

THey are on 18/6, ph is 6.8, temp is probly 75-80. Germinated in paper towels from bagseed, 10 out of 10 germed, killed the badly deformed and weak ones as I only will be growing 3 to flower.

One of them is drooping, but I did a flush i'll see if that helps tomorrow. The biggest one with the fatest leaves has a yellow on the veins near the base of the leaves, can't see it in the pics but should I be concerned?

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated during this stressful period.

The biggest strongest one with the slight yellowing on the veins, can't see it really in the picture.

Nice! You should get the "Daylight" Spectrum 5500-6500k CFL's for Vegging, and "Warm or Soft White" 2700k bulbs for Flower. Thats what I hear..I just started my first as well.

Well, the lil droopy guy is perking up already! Yay. The big one with the fat leaves on closer inspection has brownish/purple veins near the base of the leaves, not yellow.

EDIT-Oh well, they aren't warm actually. The only ones they had were "general purpose", I don't what these fall under. They didn't have the warm or cool ones, it doesn't have information on the spectrum anywhere either.

That what Mine look like, bought them from Home Depot, Wal-Mart Has them as well. On the Back of the package at the "Top-right or Top-center" It States how many Volts to Watts & Kelvins(K) i.e. these are 120V-27watt 5,500K CFL's. Hope this Helps. ~Stay Green

carl how much did u pay for those at home depot... Where I live there like 8 something for just 1 :( yet at walmart they sell a 2 pack for 6.88.... both 26 watt 100 watt equiv 6500k daylight.. Im just waiting for walmart to get more in..

I grew a singl plant with a mix of the ones from home depot and walmart. the ones from home depot are actually 5500k and the ones from walmart are 6500k I flowered with a mix of 47 watt 2700k from walmart 5500k home depot and 6500k walmart and my plant looked pretty gravy. check my grow log link.

Alright, just a quick update. They seem to be doing well, although the edges look a bit serrated and the serrated little tips are curling upwards a bit, two of the new leaves on one of them are starting to "pray", not sure if I should add salt or wait till watering time and flush them all, what do you guys think???

there looking good, you may start adding veg nutes to those that look yellow, start with giving 1/4 of the dose it sais on the back.
dont discard any yet, Id let these grow then transplant them into not really big but medium pots and let them sex, then discard the males and keep the ladies. exept for that one in the top left which looks like dead from birth.. sucks to get those Ive had some myself too.
the ones that grow big are usually males, the ones that look like they are 5 days behind are usually females.
time will reveal the secrets of nature:) keep things clean, good luck !

Significant growth today, I was like whoah when I got home from work. Oh, and the one that's "dead from birth" is just a mutant, I kinda wanna grow it, i'm curious what would happen, it's very hardy as i've sort of been trying to kill it, it won't die.

Well, batteries are dead so no pictures just yet. I got 3 of em in some black 11 liter trash buckets (2 bucks each). They are in 2 parts soil, 1 part vermiculite and 1 part perlite. If you look at the day 10 picture I ended up keeping the middle left one, (very compact and bushy, about 4-5 inches tall, 6-7 inches wide, 1st set of the 7 leaves), the bottom right (huge, about 7-8 inches tall, almost a foot wide, more stretched out, very thick stem).

I did keep the big one but after about 2 days after transplanting it kept yellowing and drooping more and more, it just didn't look good and it had a "male" vibe to it, lol, like that means anything. So today I decided to kill it and transplanted the mutant instead (the little runt that looks dead, it really took off), that little guy deserves it. Despite being left in my bathroom with no light or air, it kept growing in spite of me. It also stayed COMPLETELY green, no red/purple stems, just green and healthy even when I wouldn't water it. I'm thinking the mutation makes it really hardy, I have high hopes for it. But, so far so good, had some thrips, but have been spraying with neem oil and haven't seen any more of those metallic looking patches and I only see one at a time now, I don't think they will be too much of a problem now. Pictures up soon.

Ehh, day 18..

Oh yeah, I went and got some natural cfls, so each one has 1 cool white, and one soft white or w/e it's called.

I like how everyone ignores me, it makes me feel great. Anyways, I managed to snap a few pics before my battery died after I put it in the freezer for a while. It died before I got a chance to take a picture of the deformed one.

I think i'll name this one big bertha. She suffered no transplant shock and has past the other two BIG time.

I use superthrive after transplanting or anything that might stress the plant. Give them a some time. I am sure your plant will be alright. They are green.

But, I had a plant, last year, that consisted of no more that four leaves sitting on top of the soil. It was a baby clone (?). It was that size when we got it in March. We weren't ready yet. It went outside in May. The others grew normally. It got everything the other plants got, but it did not grow any bigger until it went to bloom. It then doubled its leaves and produced one nice size nug. Very nice smoke!

I think this grow is just a learning experience, I am thinking of throwing them into flower already, i'll get a bit of smoke and then I can order some real seeds and do it right, what do you guys think???

I;ve bein thinking the same think on my grow homie im just using bagseed and i only have room to flower one-2 plants so i think in about 7 days im going to lst then transplant into another pot then 12/12 there asses, i have no idea what kind of flowering time im going to have to get it though i want to harvest early for the up high ya dig.

Big Bertha is girl, no doubt about it. I found out why leona wasn't growing, I guess some of her roots were exposed, I covered those up and she started growing a bit, still no sex on her though. Pics when the buds are....buds.

Alright, I kept 3, 1 of them just couldn't get out of a funk, so I just have big bertha who is flowering and leona is still very small, but she is vegging again and being lst'd. Here are some pictures as promised. This isn't really a log to impress anybody or anything like that, I just like seeing grows that are more realistic, you know, on a budget and limited resources like me, so I figured i'd add mine. I kept them about 2-3 inches, as close as I could. It had 2 23watt (100watt equivalent) when I started them, then 4, and finally 6 when I started flower. It's 2 ft even. The other one had some issues, but it's about 8 inches i'd say, i'll get a pic of it soon.

Yeah, at first I thought you had the lights high up and it was stretching, but it shouldn't of tried to stretch that badly if it was only 2-3" away. That's a beast of a plant.

I can only imagine what it would probably look like if you LST'd it when it was growing. Probably a bush.

maybe 3 1/2-4 weeks flowering. I flowered it at less than a foot, it's more than 2 ft now. It's not all that impressive as I didn't veg long and the seed is from shitty brown weed. This was more an experiment for myself to see if schwag could grow out decent bud. I figure the shit I had was nasty and gross due to human error, improper drying, mold, not curing, seeds, etc..

So far it doesn't smell very strong at all, makes wonder if my soil contains any charcoal. But, if I touch any part of the plant my fingers are left with that, fruity pebbles/crunch berry sweet type smell (you all should know what i'm talking about). Any who, when this is said it done, I will be doing a blueberry, grapefruit, and strawberry cough grow now that I know I can do it even with less than optimal conditions.

Thanks for the pics the reason I asked was I wanted to see how you are prunning. They look good, I read the FAQ on prunning on this site the other day and you may want to read it yourself. You can remove all the lower fan leaves, leave the top 4, there are enough leaves on the buds for photosynthasis and will actually help the buds grow bigger with the leaves not draining energy from the buds. I am at the same point in one of my grows and my buds are about the same size as yours maybe a little bigger but I am growing White Widow and some Mystery Seeds from the seed bank that came with the W/W. Also read up on LST in the FAQ section you will want to probably impliment that on your next grow to increase your yeild.

So all and all very nice first grow and I think you will be impressed by your results. Also you may consider starting your next crop now to cut down on time between harvests, That is if you have the room and funds to start a veg box.
