So I have really bad anxiety, I've had a few anxiety attacks before where it would be extremely hard for me to breathe and my heart would beat fast. And almost every morning on my way to work I get horrible anxiety. I don't know why I guess because I'm anxious about whats going to happen that day, but the only thing that seems to ease my anxiety is smokin a little bud in the mornings. Its working for me now but I plan to join the Navy next fall and don't know what i'm going to do then. Because I know I will have to quit. And for god knows how long I will have to quit for... I am not exactly a social smoker, I mean I will smoke with a my friends once and a while but mainly I smoke by myself to relax... I wonder if the Navy would accept a medical marijuana patient? I can become a patient...

i highly doubt the navy would accept a medical marijuana patient, but if you want to join the navy they will get you as much anxiety medication as you need, in till then just try to meditate before you go to work, thats what i do to calm down :D good luck

yeah, i think they'd prefer if you were on xanax or something of that ilk. or maybe an anti-depressant to regulate anxiety. my suggestion is to see a psychiatrist who can help diagnose you...probably, also therapy is worth a try.
(i know what it's like to be paralyzed with fear...i am on a gamut of medications and really the best thing i've used is marijuana. however, i've tried a lot of other meds like prozac, paxil, etc... as well as benzodiazepenes like xanax or klonopin and i've made great strides since before i was on anything).

I can't speak from experience on this one, so take this with a grain of salt, but I seriously doubt that you would be allowed to serve in the armed forces while smoking weed. There are other medications, and I assume the military would prefer you to be taking one of the other things on the (grossly overinflated) psychiatric pharmaceuticals market.

Umm, wouldn't joining the military during wartime increase anxiety? Maybe you should wait on that one lol
