why do you get high?

During a smoke session today, me and some buddies got wondering, why do we smoke like we do. Ive been smoking since the 7th grade, and it has made a impact on my life. All for the good of course, minus the thousands of dollars its made me spend. Its made me more social, more intellectual, more fun, I just feel like a better person. If I dont have some of my daily medicine, i just dont feel I run as smooth through out the day. Its the oil for my creaky gears.

So I guess the reason I get high, is it just makes the day so much better. So much easier to relax, and expand the mind.

I dont drink liquor, alcohol, or smoke tobacco, so "my high" is a minor addiction, one can only, "get so high" on weed, depending on the ":pimp: THC" all in all, its a mild drug:thumbsup:

Well, considering Marihuana is one of the most, if not the most, dangerous and addictive drugs in the world... I get high because I have to. I am 100% dependent on it. I have to smoke 4 grams per hour, else I have either insane diarrhea or insane constipation. I also hallucinate about the world ending, and how I'm gonna go to hell. I become delusional, etc. This all happens if I don't use it. In fact, exactly 32.63% of the time that I have insane diarrhea, it is bloody. I steal for Marihuana like a crackhead would steal for crack, or a heroin addict would steal or even kill for heroin! I might even rape somebody!

i think for most habitual smokers (applies most to daily use) there is too complex a psychological addiction to explain, with a single reason, why they smoke weed. the true reasons are usually not the reasons on the surface.

it took me a long time -- and maybe a few harder trips -- to realize that some of my earlier stages in potsmoke stemmed from escaping reality, a tendency toward 'obsessing' over hobbies, etc.

i won't go on because i found the true reasons i smoke/smoked the way i do/did are definitely self-revealing, and this is no livejournal.

I have thought about the reasons I get high quite a bit lately. I can't pin it down to one main reason so here is a list of small reasons why I love to get high.

- When I am going to sleep at night lying in my bed after a few bowls I feel so amazingly relaxed and I go to sleep feeling like everything in the world is perfect.

- When I am with my friends we drive out to the bush and go for a long blazed walk. It is great walking through the bush with my best friends talking shit and then when we get to the cliffs we stand on the end and the wind blows in our faces and it is one of the most amazing feelings I have ever had.

- It relaxes me when I play Counter-Strike (an online game) and makes the game a lot more enjoyable especially when I have loud bassy music playing. The game becomes a reflex and I play much much better than if I was trying to over concentrate.

- I just love the feeling of being so relaxed and high. I also love getting the munchies at 2am and going to burger king or mc donalds and buying a whole lot of food to go eat at a park.

Sometimes when I am high I can look at someone and picture them when they're 50 or see an old person and picture them young. Or I'll deconstruct the way one of my friends deals with a certain situation and think about everything my friend has ever experienced and how it has effected that one decision.
Im not sure if that made sense but can anyone possibly relate to having these high thoughts?

I'm usually a person that is all over the place, thinking about everything. I'm more focused. Both short term and long term. I'm pro at everything, even more so than when sober because I simply pay more attention to the immediate world around me.

I see the world as beauty, shapes and colors interconnected in ways that I would've never seen otherwise. The sunset above all description. The stars shine with ten times the luminosity.

Every single face I see is a happy one. Every second is joyous. Every day is another step towards complete contentment. Everyone is a friend.

My grades have improved. My inner confidence is the highest it's ever been in a long time, after many bouts with depression. I have a clearer focus in life. I'm no longer strung up on the little stresses in life.

Why smoke weed? To get high.

Yeah I play guitar. And funnilly enough I started learning around the same time I started smoking weed more than once a week... I only started at the begginging of last summer, but all I did that summer was smoke weed, listen to the beatles and play the guitar... in that order.

To stay relaxed and mellow. I can smoke just a small bowl, only get a little heady, but be relaxed for hours. My ex ALWAYS made sure I had plenty around to keep me sane. lol
