I'm not sure if this is the right section for this but on Wednesday I drained my battery and then I connected it to my computer yesterday but nothing is happening to it the screen is blank and the wire is connected properly too and I tried 3 different ports but nothing seems to happen to it and it wont charge or do anything i left it over night thinking it may start up and get charged but the screen is still blank and nothing is happening to it. I'm getting very frustrated with and i don't want to buy another one anyone know how to fix my problem or any place i can take it to get it fixed

Used to be able to hold select and play for a few seconds and that would hard reboot the unit. not sure if it still works on newer models.

I have an older mini and it's happened to me before. Some combo of plugging into power supply, reset, smacking.... got it to work.
Maybe you could leave it plugged in for a bit and try again.

Apple must have an FAQ about it.

make sure the usb port you have it connected to; try moving it to another one. Go out and pick up the wall-plug adaptor for your charger. It connects the usb port to a wall charger basically.
if that doesnt work, find out if you have waranty still or not. If not, ebay a battery, they're pretty easy to put in.

This exact thing happened to me. It really pissed me off, i couldn't get it working, i tried for weeks... and just got more frustrated. Then we took it to the Apple store in Toronto, and it was just because the battery was so low that my computer couldn't give enough juice for it to start at all, and we had to buy this adaptor that plugged into a wall outlet, and had the USB connection for you iPod cord.
Yeah dude send it to Apple and demand a new one.

Congradulations, you've just discovered the horrible evil that is the Ipod battery. I've had 3 Ipod mini's replaced under one warranty, and every one has had it's battery die. I charge it for any amount of time, and within 2 seconds of playing something it'll stop with the "low battery" sign.
Apple is evil. The ipod interface is fantastic, but they'll give you one battery after another that'll crap out.

There is one in the Yorkdale mall. I think there is one in the Eaton Centre as well... just type it in google, and you'll find all the locations. The adaptor worked great, but it was about 50$ at the time.

yeah just bring it into the apple store. i think the battery is totally dead as in it cannot be recharged, it happened to mine. they'll replace it right there for you. if you make an appointment etc. apple is great otherwise. lol
