View Full Version : What Strains Do You Like/Dislike...for Growing

And why?

Of the "purebred" seeds I've grown I really liked the Master Kush, Crystal Limit, and some Cotton Candy seeds that a good friend gave me. All three of these plants were easy go grow, hardy enough to outlast me and had some very good smoke and yields.

I had some funky issues growing blueberry so I have given up on that strain. With it's super short stocky branches I found it pretty impossible to lst.....while topping merely made the plant grow down INWARD which I really didn't know was possible. And talk about your basic COUCHLOCK.....:wtf: (also the only plant I've used Reverse on that hermied anyway?) :(

I also grew some catpiss that while I cannot account for its background...the smell certainly can. With only two of those flowering plants in my house the reek of those things could be smelled outside and halfway down the yard. And they smelled exactly the same after curing.....and when smoking....a definite minus to me although the high was quite good.

Tried a few Haze plants.....both hermied because they take 670499 years to flower. I was not amused.

Like:
Pure Power Plant
Anything from Bushy Old Grower
Jillybean
MTF
Papaya
Blockhead
Black Indica
Toxic Lemon
= All vigorous and hardy plants.

Dislike:
Strawberry Cough
Chocolate Chunk
SmashBerry
SAGE x blueberry
= All somewhat twitchy plants that simply NEVER seemed to be particularly happy and I've retired my moms of all but the smashberry- that one I'm keeping becuase of the smell of the finished product.

Have only grown two strains. White Widow and White Rhino. No problems. Crippling high.

Received Papaya seeds in the mail today.

DP I had problems with my white rhino...mold....and although I had fert issues that I feel contributed hugely to the problem I also think the very density of the WR buds also was an issue.

Are your WR buds super dense?

I had to pull some Romulan seedlings because of the smell. They smelled stronger 3 weeks into veg than my last grow at harvest. Gonna need a carbon filter to plant the rest of the seeds.

Yes ...they were pretty dense, at least the colas were...kept wanting to fall over....

As far as mold?...I think growing in the summertime is the #1 reason for mold...it's just a pet theory of mine.

I only grow in the fall/winter.

I've liked most everything I've ever grown, until I did Reeferman's gear ... over-priced garbage genetics, lots of variation, non-viable seeds, NO customer support, hermie-prone, very un-stable ... and, my close friend just did several of his strains outdoors this year ... his verdict, same as mine ... I guess if ya buy enough High Times advertising, you could be a Cup-Winner, too ... never again

I'm interested in that toxic lemon too.....just the NAME makes it sound good.

Reaper......keep in mind that for all that advertising you need to hire a bunch of sexy babes to hold the stuff for the photos....this gets VERY expensive for the breeder....:D

Blueberry was such a "twitchy bitch". I like that term. Thanks Stinky. She couldn't handle any stress at all. No ferts at all. But the finished product....the smoke....fantastic.

I did WR last summer and they did ok in spite of my major f*#k ups.Im trying it again this fall with the cooler weather Im looking for improved results.Pretty good smoke over all.

Ya,Im getting some Romulan seeds again this winter.Very stinky, can be a bit picky and will hermie but over all not a "super hard fussy strain".The smoke just ties your ass to the chair for a long time while you drool all over your self,I was really happy with the potency. My partner took a couples of pulls off from their little one hitter and said, "I thought this would be stronger",ten minutes later they were nodding out,I bring this up all the time, its pretty funny.
