I've been in need of a job for a while and I finally found a good one, the only problem is that the day I go in for the interview they will test me with an oral swab test. I smoke about twice a day, and i'm about 5'6 160lbs. I can go in for the interview whenever I want. How long should I go without smoking before the interview? Should I do anything else? (drink water or cranberry juice) to ensure a clean result?

I was wondering the same thing being that i also have a mouth swab on tuesday. i have found looking through the forums prior to asking, that the issue has been brought up several times before and that it has been confirmed by someone known as fakeboobsrule (FBR) who apparently really knows his shit when it comes to drug tests, is that 96 hours (4 days) is the maximum amount of time it is traceable in saliva. even 3 days is usually just fine from what others have said as well. so just set the pipe down for a few days and you will be all good

Thanks a lot. I'm glad I asked, I was ready to stop for 2-3 weeks. Great advice, I think I'm going to stop for a week just to be safe, plus my tolerance is ridiculous right now so I hope to get it down a bit.

I'll post the results in about 10 days. I've got some blueberry and it's gonna last about three days, then I'm stopping for a week, do the interview and let you guys know.

Thanks IBtokin for looking and Happiest for telling him what's up. Just for a little more clarity, most oral fluid tests have a detection window of about 24-36 hours but I have seen some brands that can go back 48 hours and some even 96 hours. So stop 4 days before the test and if you can't then make sure you brush your teeth and gums and tongue very well before you take the test. You should also position the swab so that it is barely touching the soft surfaces in the mouth.

So oral swabs are self-run?
