I took a clone of plant that was cut during the flowiner period and I am having some problems. First I will descibe the set up I have a 40,000 lumen output lamp 6500k 12" away from humidity dome. The clone is in an oasis cube that has been PHed and has liquid karma and hygrozyme in it. The problem withe clones are that the leaves are turn a bright yellow and I am wondering if there is something I can do to help it

First off, welcome.
That light is very intense for cloning. Even a single small flourescent is plenty!
I suspect that given SO much light, it's tryin gto grow leaves, and in absence of nitrogen, it's using up stored N in the leaves.
I'm not sure about the application of hygrozyme in cloning.
What did you use for rooting hormone?
Anyway... decrease light intensity and see if it slows down.

Ok I will raise the light about 1ft decreasing it by almost half and the hormone is root tech.

I would try NO nutrients except a tiny bit of B1 (your choice) while trying to get cuttings to root. And yes, keep your light back. If too many leaves are yellow, she's a gonner, sorry. You should try to take your cuttings during veg so they don't have to revert back to veg before rooting. You might try flushing to get out any crap it doesn't want, then you can start fresh

Why are you wasting so much electricity to burn a light that is doing more harm than good? Use one 15-25 watt cfl and you will be a lot better off.

HUH? Although it is highly preferable to take the cuttings during veg, they can be taken during flower. Once the cutting is rooted, it will then re-veg.

PharmaCan, are you sure? I have always thought it was the other way around. What a dope. But I thought I had read several times that it takes so much longer to root becuase it has to revert first. Oh well I never had to worry about it much because I have always taken cuttings during veg.

Yep. Like stinky says, "Even a single small flourescent is plenty!" This is all you need for rooting 20 or less cuttings. And what a cost difference in electricity.

Do you just cut a peice of the plant and put it in dirt? A bunch of people are talking about hormones and stuff? Can anyone shed some light on this subject

It's all over the place if you read the forums, search the term 'cloning instructions'... there's some in the big sticky at the top of basic growing.

Clones can be taken in veg as soon as the plant is large enogh to chop up, or up to the third week of flower, but will then have to be allowed time to re-veg- it's not too bad; a total of 3 weks from when they are put back to 12/12, including the time under the dome, is plenty.

But stinky, perhaps you know if PC is right about a cutting taken during flower. He says it roots, then reverts, and I always thought it was the other way around. Do you know? Does anyone?
