Do you prefer cost over quality or do you think that generic food is just as good in some cases?
personally i go with cost, my dad taught me to be a cheap ass

I can go low. I'll buy whatever ice cream is on sale. I won't buy a huge sack of cheap bud, however.

I think many of the generics are just as good as brand-name. Many of the store-brand or generic foods in grocery stores are manufactured by the brand companies and simply sold with a different label. I buy generics when they're available.

for the most part, generics but there are a few exceptions.... manwhich for example... i can't take store brand sloppy joe mix... tastes like bbq sauce, not sloppy joe mix... hamburger helpers/box dinners too.... there are others i can't think of atm..

this is true. i worked at a grocery store. so your really not being a cheap ass your just being smarter then the person who doesn't want to be a cheap ass cause they'd rather spend money on the real thing. what they don't know is the same company their spending more money on made the cheaper shit too. tools.

I can get a half of good mids for 90, and an 8th of the dankest headies for 60, and an eighth of outdoor for 40. I usually like quantity over quality just because it will last me longer, but I think the outdoor is a nice balance. The thing is i get super conservative when I only have an 8th on me...
Just got an 8th of sour diesel today for 60. Just smoked a TINY bowl because I need it to last and I feel higher than I would after a full bowl of midds.
P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if q and r were eliminated.

Definitely, quality over cost any day. I feel that way for just about everything except meds, I think its because I know that meds are made by the same company and have to have the same benefits. Otherwise, I have always been disappointed in the taste and end result of generic stuff. And likewise, I probably get that from my dad, which begs the thread... what influences in our life that we don't realize we can attribute to our folks?

I lived on the streets and ate shit out of dumpsters or .99¢ hamburgers from Carls Jr or Jack in The Box and used .99¢ store cosmetics when and if I could afford them.
When I was a kid growing up in the 60's & 70s' my parents were tightwad squeaky penny pinching misers and made me wear clothes I hated {High water make believe denim jeans} and the food was all no frills food that cost less than half what real food costs and tasted like shit. Plus they did not get a color tv until 1970 when everyone else in the neighborhood had one for years already, some with remote control. Me, I had to watch a gay old 13 channel 19" Zenith. It was an embarrassment then and it still pisses me off now.
Shit, my toes are crunched, ugly & curled because my feet grew faster than my parents would buy shoes for me because they did not wear out before I grew out of them.
So, now it is 2007 and I buy myself new name brand expensive steel toed shoes and toss the old ones before they are trashed. I only wear Levi jeans and Smart ass T-Shirts that say things like "Protect your nuts" or something silly like that.
My food is all top shelf name brand stuff and I have a 42" Panasonic plasma tv with a nice new RCA home theater system, Directv's 250+ channel package, AT&T unlisted phone number with unlimited everything including DSL, A Nextel is502 hybrid phone and vintage Honda motorcycles built into expensive money pits with only the best parts that money can buy to make them faster and cooler than anyones in town.
I have credit cards and use them to buy stuff I do not need because I am an idiot but, I am one happy idiot and the world can bite my shiny metal ass.:D
It is top shelf name brand shit for me or forget about it.

I usually just get what I want but I try to find a quality but average cost to low cost item. This includes all my walks of life.
As for the advertising techniques companies have used upon me, I have subliminally wanted all of their sweet tasting food products that have appeared on television.

I work for myself building motorcycles and selling them and rare parts for said bikes. No, I am not hiring. My wife would not like the idea of hiring you or any woman, she is a little jealous and very insecure.:(

quality is better!! i love food, and nasty butt tasting food is totally a turnoff, esp during munchies where everything is supposed to taste good and the food DOESN'T thats when you know you've hit a new food-low.
