Welcome to Norkali's 2nd indoor growlog. My first indoor grow (http://boards.cannabis.com/closet-cabinet-growing/121325-came-closet.html) didn't go too bad at all IMO, I was happily surprised with my results.

Now I have learned from my initial mistakes and have taken the time to fix and upgrade my growspace:

6'' Cooltube!
SunMaster 600w Cool Deluxe MH conv. bulb
SunMaster 600w Super HPS Deluxe bulb
600w Digital Greenhouse ballast
4'' duct - replaced with 6''.
4 more 2'' intake holes, total of 6 now.
No more ghetto chains, Hi-Low reflector hangers.
Plastic tub for flushing/runoff/pH testing, baking racks to elevate pots.

Other implemented/planned improvements:

Quality genetics - Joey Weed's Cinderella 99
Fox Farms Nutes:
-Grow Big
-Tiger Bloom
-Big Bloom
Also, Liquid Karma & Liquinox Start Vitamin B-1
Purchased both soil and liquid pH test kits
Purchased pH Up/Down solution.
Prilled Dolomite Lime to combat acidic Fox Farms nutes.
LST & Topping during grow.

Soil will remain the same, Black Gold Seedling Mix to start, then Fox Farms Ocean Mix.

Temps are SO much better with the CoolTube, temps barely raise with the door closed.

I really want to play with ScrOG as well, but am still unsure of where/how to mount the screen/how big of screen spacing, etc. - Any advice?

Seeds were popped into the ground on Oct. 13 @ 12:01am PST. It has been three days now, no signs of anything yet, but that was expected. I'm giving them at least a week before I worry. I did not use any pre-planting germination techniques, just a dry seed into moist soil and patience.

Im thinking of ordering some of that C99 from Joey I have been hearing so much about. What did the packaging look like ? Did you have it sent somewhere else besides where you are growing at ? I feel like I should send them somewhere else but don't want to have to tell anyone what they are...

Packaging?? HD is based in Canada, so it just looks like any other international package/mail. I had it shipped directly. If you have to worry about what's coming in the mail because of the occupants of the house, then you probably shouldn't be growing there; realizing of course that I don't know you nor your living situation.

People worry too much about their snail mail being watched. Unless your ordering hundreds of seeds or using stolen credits cards, in my personal opinion at least, you shouldn't worry about it.

Think about it. If the USPS --> FBI/DEA were really interested in you and your odd horticultural purchases, they would just track you on the internet, subpoena a couple of things, warrant, call to your friendly local police dept., bing bang boom. You're done.

Local cops? ....put it this way, if you believe that you possess the nerve, knowledge, and skill to maintain a successful marijuana grow, you should be smart enough not to attract police attention on a general basis in the first place....getting some seeds in the mail should be one of your lesser worries.

Is it just me or do the leaves look kind of twisted/folded....like the "wind" is too strong. The fan is on the lowest setting as it is...already moved farther way too. A better fan is actually on the way; will be much better suited for my operation.

I think I will be transplanting into bigger pots soon, maybe in the next day or two...oh yeah, I added a 1/2'' of Fox Farms Ocean Forest mix to top the little pots off...the soil will be 100% Fox Farms when I transplant as well.

Probably less frequent updating as well, I'm beginning to think that two pics a day (on average) is excessive. Unless of course you guys like the OCD style documentation. Somebody is paying for the bandwidth. It will be awesome though to watch a high quality time-lapse when the ladies* are done.

Norkali, i am currently in close to the same stage as u, my seedlings have just popped their heads out of the dirt today.

What kind of light did u use for ur seedlings just after they sprouted? I dont wanna put the 400w MH on em yet do i?

How far away was ur light from the seedling?? Also i AM supposed to have 24 hr light at this stage correct?

http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/138196-2nd-grow.html Heres my gro-log if u want to check it out. I also have a photo problem lol, i guess its not necessarily a bad thing tho right

I use 18/6, I never use 24/0. (Unless I had a mother plant)

I put the seedling right under a 600w MH conversion bulb immediately, at about 5.5 ft. away w/ a cool tube (and mylar.)

Now it's about 3.5-4 ft. away.

Good log, get your lights closer though! Swich to the MH!!

Just got done transplanting the babies.... 3 of 4 went well. One was questionable.

The plant with the "special leaf" (http://boards.cannabis.com/attachments/grow-log/163056d1193544215-norkalis-2nd-indoor-grow-cinderella99-oct.-27-5.jpg) was the "questionable" transplant. As I was in the process of physically transplanting to the new pot, I (stupidly) took my hand off of the bottom of the rootsquare and the rootball just...fell through. The top section of the soil basically detached from the main rootball and it (the rootball) fell like 3 inches into the awaiting hole....I simply placed what was left in my hand and set it back on top gently and worked it all in.

Pic 1 - Day 12

Pic 2 - Day 13

Pic 3 - Today, Day 14 - before transplant.

Pic's 4&5 - Today, after transplant.

Will update tomorrow sometime to show results. Edit: Also, I was baked last update and stated I would use 24/0 for mothers. Nahhh...lol. Why would I do that. 18/6 all the way. :stoned: and cwesto....do it; they'll be alright, they need it.

I was also wondering how far do u have ur MH away from ur plants, and what ur day time and night time temps are and what humidity do u have???

Keep up the good work norkali

Nope.

I like "up" highs. That's mainly why I chose Cindy 99. That and the ease of the grow. I don't know about the stretching, I plan on doing a ScrOG anyway.

Before the transplant, the MH bulb was approx. 3' 3'' away from the top of the plants. After I transplanted last night, the new pots raised them up closer to the lights and now they are exactly 2' 5'' away from the tops of the plants. I haven't seen any signs of stress throughout the day.

Morning: 69-73°
Afternoon & Evening: 73-78°
Night: 65-68°

Humidity: 35-55%

I didn't know what I was even doing until the morning after I realized that I hadn't totally topped the plants, so I hopped onto the lovely Cannabis Cultivation FAQ (http://growfaq.net/index.php?) and saw the FIM technique article. BINGO!

Should be interesting.

Hey Norkali....anything new??? how are the girls??

the image reaper
11-10-2007, 05:01 PM
your seedlings are looking OK, but I want to point out a couple things for newbie growers ... you should not have fertilized so early ... 2 weeks, NO nutes is best, (you got away with it this time, but C99 tolerates just about anything, other strains won't) ... also, I personally would never dream of topping a plant that young and small ... I suggest you don't top before the 5th set of branching, no sense in stressing a seedling that small ... Cinderella99 isn't a particuarly tall plant, anyway ... the leaf deformity that you pointed out means nothing usually, no worries ... possibly a microscopic scratch or abrasion from emerging from the shell, and it becomes more apparent as it grows larger ... otherwise, a very nice grow, and I predict you'll love Joey's C99 ... improves greatly after a slow cure ...

They are looking good! I have started foliar feeding w/ growth excel and wow, look at the pictures.

also, I personally would never dream of topping a plant that young and small ... I suggest you don't top before the 5th set of branching

I've also heard the 4th set, seeing as how it's resilient, I topped. I don't regret topping at all.

otherwise, a very nice grow, and I predict you'll love Joey's C99 ...

Thanks.

Tonight (Day 31 of Veg.) was the first night of LST. I watered last night; slowly pulled them over this evening.

It exposed a lot of little potential bud sites

BTW: Last night the feeding was:

3 tsp Grow Big
1 tsp Growth Excel
2 tsp Liquid Karma

I am SO glad I am on the pH levels now....the feeding before pH Up was like 4.0-4.3. Adjusted with 30(!) drops or so of pH up.

lst is looking good keep it up. just wait til you got tons of side branches to lst. if you need to free up some foliage you can trim the leaf fingers in half or what i started doing is just taking 1-3 of the smaller fingers off so the leaves are 3-4 fingered.

norkali
11-18-2007, 06:10 PM
Thanks Cwesto and Iriebowl.

I water every 3-5 days, depending on conditions. I also have started to foliar feed with Growth excel and Wet Betty Organic as well. The regimen is 2 nights feeding, 1 night just h2o (foliarlly applied), then 1 night w/o any foliar app. The cycle restarts the next night. (Tonight, 11/18 (Day 33) the little babies will get the 100% h20 application.)

The Growth Excel and Wet Betty have DEFINITELY made a difference...If I get around to it I will look back to see when I first started using the Growth Excel/Wet Betty and compare the couple days of before and after pics.

And speaking of 12/12...

Pre-flowers have just started to show!! This morning I woke up to check on my LST'ing job and whadaya know? Two of the girls(!) have started to show pre-flowers. Although super tiny still. I am almost sure that each of the two little nubs had even tinier mini-pistils starting to emerge! As soon as I can sex these things I can determine when I will be switching over to 12/12; If all are female (hah!) then I'll start 12/12 now and hope to god that they all fit. Most likely, 1 or 2 will be male, I'll get those outta there, make some more room, continue to train the remaining ladies a little bit, and then throw them into flower.

I'll keep ya updated!!

P.S. Where are Weedhound and Dizzy1? They were regulars on my last log....where is everybody?....No love for Norkali? BTW, lol, not you Cwesto. Thanks for the positive feedback man.

All 4 babies are female!! They started to show preflowers on day 34, and the preflowers didn't fully "show" until today, day 37. All have little white pistils poking out.

12/12 starts tonight. I wasn't anticipating all 4 being female, so I am starting flowering now and will continue to train for the next week or two.

Ok. So I decided not to go to 12/12 directly, minutes before the lights were to go off (12/12) the other night....

Instead, they will be eased into it. The dark period gets 1 hour longer each night. So, when I wake up in the morning and the lights have gone on, I go add another "off" hour onto the timer for the next night.

Tonight (day 39, eve of day 40) they will have 9 hours of darkness. On this schedule, the first "true" day of 12/12 will be day 43. I plan of changing out the MH conv. to the HPS tomorrow night. This works well for a couple of reasons. One, I can clean my cooltube at the same time that I switch bulbs. Two, I watered with 100% h2o two days ago, and I would like to feed with a "flowering solution" of nutes just before/at 12/12. Third, I needed to trim some fan leaves! I did some good pruning to help airflow and eliminate leaves that weren't getting any light. (Taking more energy, than making with photosynthesis.) Also, the stress from pruning should be minimized with the gradual time change.

I waited too long to start actually (properly) pruning, starting 1 week into flower, and is lasted about a week. (to minimize stress, pruned every other day.) I am convinced that this reduced my overall yield, but I am not nearly experienced enough with growing, let alone this particular strain, to determine my approx. loss in yield. Maybe I am just being too critical though....

Other C99 grow logs show me that my ladies look to be about a day or two "behind" compared to the other C99 forming buds, (on the corresponding days) so I am just wondering will this bit of stress this early in flower have a huge or small impact on yield? Especially considering C99 has such a fast flowering period. ...?

Wow Norkali, the plants look awesome...
Don't worry,i think you will have a big yield...
But maybe you should pick a few bigger fan leafs, so the lower buds
get a lil' more light(but this is just my opinion)....

Keep up the good work buddy , and keep us posted....good luck...

I got an actual pH meter finally!

Nutrient mix was adjusted to 6.5 going in and the runoff ended up at 5.9

I need to flush. The next feeding is already set for 100% h2o. The ladies typically share 2 gallons of water between the 4 of them, a half gallon each. Now, I just need to know how much to water it, and what is the best water to flush with.

I have both distilled and R/O water. I was thinking about flushing with 2 gallons of water (1 gal. distilled, 1 gal. R/O) to each pot. (pots are 5 gal.) Should I add all of the 2 gal. at once? Over an hour? A couple hours? I have a feeling that flooding a plant like that would do more harm than good. BUT, I don't know shit about this, I have never flushed before.

What about the pH of the water? where should I aim for going in? 7.1, to even the 5.9 out to 6.5? Or pH starting @ 6.5? Also, I've heard that R/O can be harmful to soil by leaching out the nutrients due to it's "0 qualities" Or was that hydro?

Either way....I need some help. :(

Some pic's to enjoy:

01-06-2008, 06:26 AM
lol, thanks everybody.

Feeding nutrients:

Fox Farms - Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, & Big Bloom
Liquid Karma
occasional A.N. Growth Excel
tablespoon of blackstrap molasses for final feeding

I did foliar feed in veg. Not in flower. (Using Advanced Nutrients Growth Excel w/ Wet Betty)

cwesto
01-06-2008, 06:39 AM
Norkali, when u say u used a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses for final feeding what do u mean by final feeding??

norkali
01-06-2008, 06:52 AM
I should have clarified that, by "final feeding" I mean the final time that I give it anything other than water.

I will be 'flushing' with ph'd tap water until harvest.

cwesto
01-06-2008, 06:54 AM
So u mean that u will only be feedinf w/ molasses once, at the end of the whole grow??

norkali
01-06-2008, 07:03 AM
Unfortunately yes, I would have wanted to feed with it probably two or three times, but I could not find any unsulphered, blackstrap molasses for over two weeks....I was a bit busy to be hunting down molasses during the holidays.

But! I did get some good ol' Plantation brand unsulphered blackstrap molasses in at the last second.

 Just water from here on out.

cwesto
01-06-2008, 07:14 AM
So would u have fed w/ the molasses for the whole bloom period or just like the last month?? cause i heard that it is 100% safe to use for the whole bloom??

norkali
01-06-2008, 07:26 AM
For my first time using the stuff, I kind of like using it once and seeing the results. Next time around, I'll be able to see what happens w/ molasses at earlier introduction and longer duration.

I would have used it for about the last 3-4 weeks though, yes.

I don't see any reason why you could not use molasses from the beginning of bloom though, just as long as it is used carefully. (Possible nute lock-out from too much iron? Attract bugs? Sticky soil?) That's the problem, I just don't know. I don't have experience using the stuff. We'll see though, right? :bonghit:

The stuff seems wonderful so far though. My buds smell great. Everything seems happy.

norkali
01-06-2008, 07:39 AM
Grocery store. I tried 4, no luck, found it at the 5th. Try smaller sized chains, that's what happened in my case; none of the 3 'major' supermarket chains carried it.

LOL, gotta be you aren't used to shopping in the "cooking and baking" section of your grocery. I swear, they all carry "unsulphered molasses". It's a main cooking ingredient. Glad you found it. I first used molasses at 1/2 tablespoon to the gallon and had no troubles. This grow I upped to 2 tablespoons to the gallon. No sticky dirt, no bugs, no nute problems. I used the molasses only in flower and once every three waterings.

That is one nice, big crop you have coming there, Norki How long now, three more weeks? WOW!

01-06-2008, 06:46 PM
Thanks Shov, I think I have actually changed my mind now. I will be adding another round of molasses into the mix.

Today is day 40 of flowering. I'm guessing that 2 of the ladies will be ready right around day 50, and the 2 other ladies will be ready maybe 2-3 days after that. Weird huh? The 2 ladies that are maturing a little faster are the ones 'in front' of the closet, (the 4 pots are staggered 2 front, 2 back) the 2 'in back' are a tad slower, I honestly think it was due to the difficulty to water correctly in such a tight space; or maybe lack of ventilation? :wtf: Anyway, a little under 2 weeks left.

The mods know my age, but I really don't feel totally comfortable revealing it to all. I'm not exactly 'old' though. Let's put it that way. I've come a long way in a short time I guess.

My parents are old hippies. :hippy: lol. They dig the fact that I am legal and have a card. I showed mom the log(s) today when I was over at her house, she hasn't had a chance to see the closet in person yet. She was speechless. lmao.

Norki,
Vermont is cool. The state senate is talking about reducing the punishment for holding pot or decriminalization. I hope they do something major, not just a first offense small quantity civil offense and everything else as bad as it is now (felonies).

We had a 61 yo lady judge busted for 25 plants outdoors and she was given "court diversion", a civil offense (misdemeanor) with no record. I'd like to see that for anybody.

Ahhh. :o

Come to find out, through talking to the parents, that I'm actually a third-generation grower. It's in my genes. My grandmother (dad's side) could never get it right, bless her, she never had the heart to kill a plant and remove the males from her crops. She continually grew 'schwag' right up until she passed away, stubborn old Cherokee! She was absolutely thrilled to get her recommendation, and got to enjoy it for about a year before she passed. When the family went to clean out her house, we found some plants outback, and I even found a small bag of hash under her recliner! Yeah Nana! :hippy:

Dad brought it a bit further. He started out in his closet too; had his dad find them, got em' pulled, and moved on. A couple years down the road, he eventually ended up with a 'Best-in-Show' award form an underground and renowned (and recently written upon in High Times a few months back...) grow society. No shit. He grew that crop out of a small greenhouse in the backyard. Mom and dad waited until I was asleep, then went out and continued to trim a quarter-pound+ of bud in an RV they had parked in the side yard. When I was 7 or 8 I didn't know what that funny skunk-smell was coming out from under the house, HAH! Now I know. Unfortunately, dad never got to enjoy the benefits of Prop 215 in CA. He quit growing before the 'medical marijuana' movement really even started, out of sheer paranoia and concern for his own family.

Shit, I didn't start smoking until I was 14, and when the parents found out, I was busted too. Just like all of us. Dad didn't approve of me growing in the beginning either; probably due to old-school-paranoia. With a legitimate, legal medicinal recommendation though, and after a bit of explaining and time for it to settle, he eventually gave me the nod. Unfortunately, neither of my parents can smoke, let alone grow, due to their careers. Dad has had a chance to see my closet, and while he tries not to show it, but I can tell he's proud.

I wish the Admin could put that one back up, that was my favorite of the smileys... oh well

:greenthumb: It's there. Under 'Cannabis Smilies.'

Not for me. I stick with the liquids. I used the 3 part FF (liquid), Botnicare's Liquid Karma, Advanced Nutrients Growth Excel, and the molasses. Other than the Wet Betty, (foliar feeding w/ Growth Excel) that's about it. 193.4 grams dry = 6.9 oz.!

That is not counting trim used for butter. That number does however, take into account 2 grams of pre-maturely picked bud and 2.9 grams of small buds that were thrown into trim for the bubblebags. Regardless, there was 188.5 grams of dry, tangible, good bud at time of weighing.

How do I start my own thread thing? I dont have alot of money so I am trying to go with the cheapest setup that will still be successful. i just started 2 plants, they are about 3 days in and have sprouted but i dont know if i have enough light. I have a 75 watt fluorescent tube that im using but im not sure this is enough. any suggestions on what to use that isnt very expensive that will still be good? i was thinking about buying two CFLs (one for each plant) would that be enough light or would i still need more?

They look nic have you grown Ciny 99 before? Somone recomended the strain to me as a great UP HIGH,, What do you think? As well does it get super tall likea Sativa?

kd

I like c99 a lot. Paranoia and appetite stimulant effects are low for me. I find it relaxes me and focuses my thoughts.

While c99 is sativa dominant, I did not find it very stretchy. I grew it along with some indica dominant blueberry and the c99 plants were only marginally taller than the blueberry at harvest.

Lol, first time I ever tried:

Miracle-Gro soil
Terra-cotta pots
Chlorinated tap water
Would try to mimic light cycles by putting on the windowsill each day.....no basic knowledge!
Miracle-Gro ferts. from the garage (for the lawn...)
Died after about a week.

Just read a book! You'll get it. Just take everything one step at a time.

Norkali I know that u grow under similar conditions as me, nutes , medium, light and all. So that being said, does ur soil ever smell funny after u water ur plants??? this is probably norm, but i just cant get over how weird my dirt smells. Right now all i have used is bigbloom, superthrive from tiem to time, and liquid karma for the first time this morn.

So Norkali does ur dirt smell funky to u??

Ps ur new batch is lookn pretty good so far:thumbsup:

PS #2 When r u gonna send me those c99 clones???:D

Lol, oh yeah. Soil takes on some interesting smells throughout the grow process, as I have found out.

As long as you don't smell mold/mildew you should be good. Mold/Mildew smell = root rot.

Nice, very nice Norkali.. Shit looks pretty damn good man. I am an expert with shrooms but not a expert with herbal. Do you think you can give a "how to" installation process on the ducting and fans etc. The whole closet set up. Seems like you know what you are doing now and i want to start up a similar closet set up but i am not sure how to actually go about doing what you did. I have never tried something like that before and i was hoping on an education on an install process bro~~!!!! THANKS~~~

Hey Norcali, with that Kush clone you probably should have cut off that big fan leaf that's pulling the plant down. There would still have been plenty of stem to grow roots on and plenty of leaves to give her a start. With that big fan on there, the plant will grow bent over and will probably lose too much water through the large surface area.

I also have a question. When you go to buy clones, do they just snip one off and hand it to you or do they have them rooted already and you get the whole pot with the dirt and everything?

Good luck man! Kush is one of my favs! Got some Master Kush seeds on the way.

Peace!

p.s. thank god for wake-and-bake. otherwise 8am would be waaaay too early to get out of bed :)

Thanks man. I was wondering about that too. She is still bent over today; I am tempted to go cut it off now.

Clones come rooted (for the most part) in little Jiffy pellets, surrounded by some soil in a mini-2 inch pot. Mine did.

The comparisons are amazing! Pretty much the exact same environment, same genetics, same everything, and look at the differences. I would attribute (seriously) 75% of this growth to the Growth Excel and Wet Betty foliar applications. I used 8 mL Growth Excel and 5 mL Wet Betty to 1 gal. tap water, not pH'd. (My tap is nice, come to find out. :)) Applied every night so far, starting on the evening of day 12. No signs of salt deposits yet, but I will be spraying with just tap tonight to "clean" the fan leaves.

Oh yeah, the OG Kush clone will be rejoining the ladies soon, she's perkin' up. (http://boards.cannabis.com/attachments/plant-problems/178879d1203707856-og-kush-clone-help-ogkush.jpg) :smokin:

VERY NICE~~NORKALI~~

I also love the leopard print on the carpet!! Haha :wtf:

I have a few questions please. I LOVE your closet setup.

1. How often do you run your CFM Fan? As long as your 600w bulb is on, is that fan going?? (also what brand are you using and how is running, is it plugged in to an outlet?)

2. do you use any Co2 along with your ventilation, or is that plenty with the holes at the bottom?

3. What all did you use for your intake?

I would REALLY appreciate some helpful answers Norkali

2. where did ur clone go??

1. How often do you run your CFM Fan? As long as your 600w bulb is on, is that fan going?? (also what brand are you using and how is running, is it plugged in to an outlet?)

Fan used to run 24 hrs. a day (last grow) - now it is on the same timer (dual outlet timer) that my light is on. (So whenever my light is on, yes.) The fan is a Can-Fan RS 6 High Efficiency rated at 270CFM (Free Flow)

2. do you use any Co2 along with your ventilation, or is that plenty with the holes at the bottom?

No Co2 system in place.

3. What all did you use for your intake?

Passive intake - when the fan is on, it is not only exhausting my dirty air - it is also pulling fresh air in. Since the fan is constantly pulling air out of the closet - that air needs to be constantly replaced. The PVC tubes at the bottom of the door allow that air to be replaced. The PVC tubes are placed at the bottom of door because heat rises, the coolest air in any room -for the most part- is at the floor.

Nice-on, i think my plants got a lil overload there for a second, so for this last watering i used only 6ml bigbloom. If they are looking better by next time i may up the bigbloom to around 10ml and start to add the growbig...... THEN if that all goes well i will probably start to aply small amounts of LK the following feeding with the rest of the goodies.

Cwesto, Big Bloom is organic, you should be using a bit more - I'm at 2 Tbl. (30) mL now per every gallon. 1st week, they got 1 Tbl..

Also, the Liquid Karma is, for the most part, the micronutrients in your solution. You should be adding a little LK along side with your Grow Big/Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom. I would add a small bit now (maybe 1 tsp.) to your next feeding and build from there.

Here was what the plants received on their last feeding:

2 Tbl. Big Bloom
1 tsp. Liquid Karma
2 tsp. Grow Big
2 tsp. Thrive Alive Green

- To 1 gallon of tap, then pH'd to 6.5.

its my understanding that FF products instill the proper ph in the water unless its out of wack to begin with......

i check my tap before adding anything and its around 6.7 so i down it a tad. the nutes dont change anything in the ph and the soil i use has natural buffers and maintains proper ph by itself.

right???

Unfortunately not, most nutrients, Fox Farms particularly, are very acidic. They will lower the pH of your water after you add them. I always check pH after adding nutrients, and then adjust that solution to 6.5. (if in soil).

chinacat443

its weird i check mine pre-nutes and balance to roughly 6.3 then check after i add and its usually right around the same. ill have to pay more attention from now on..

i have learned through organic chem. that the more organic things liek this are, the more prone to acidity the soil, and stuff is. that is mostly due to the chemical decomposition of organic material....,

its almost ironic how school is helping me now....

I was wondering what are the list of nutes you used in your last grow that was completed? (what do you plan on using in the future to better your results)

And when do you use each of those (what time in the stages)?

Your plants look so damn good i was wondering your "formula" basically. I know FF has their own "chart", but i figured i'd lean toward what you use and how much/when.

Sorry I'll Rephrase my question. Is there a difference in potency or yeild by using 2 Techniques on 1 plant at different times? Compared to using 1 technique on 1 plant through out veg and flower?

As far as potency goes, I (IMO) don't think that the way you train a plant (LST/topping/ScrOG/SOG, etc.) has any influence upon the end potency of the plant.

Yield though? Definately, it depends on the variables though. Some strains 'like' being topped, and some just don't. I'd say that the same applies to LST'ing as well. For example, the C99 loves being topped and LST'd; each of the plants recover quickly and keep on chuggin' along. I can't say the same for the Granddaddy Purple though, which was treated in the same manner, at the same time. The GDP took an extra day or two to recover and didn't end up even growing new tops from where I topped it! It just 'gave up' and focused the auxins to the rest of the nodes.

So, it depends. If you have a strain that can handle training well (topping, lst) then using both techniques may prove 'better' than using only one, or none. Other strains though would suffer, like Big Bud, which doesn't like being topped, or, GDP.

Will buds mildew even if the humidity in the room is around 50%?

And i was wondering why OG Kush is called "Kush" if it's mostly sativa. Real strains of kush are nearly if not 100% pure indica and share genetics originating from the Kush Mountain range in the far East. Maybe the name comes from similar effects of smoking? Any ideas?
