It's a BROODWICH!!!!

I posted it for Mrs. Greenjeans because she was hungry, I'll put it up here and put my old Jess Rabbit pic back up in a sec.

So you want to know what a Broodwich is?

That one was a grinder I made whilst stoned, and the horns are Corne di Toro peppers from my flower room. I was baked, sue me.

Lucky you, I prefer whole grain mustard or spicy brown. Now THAT'S a good Broodwich.

You grow peppers as well? I'm a chili head but all my attempts to grow them have failed. :( I'm trying to grow some Red Savina's at the moment. None of them have germinated.

Thank God someones heard of the broodwhich! I go to every new sandwich place I come across and ask for one and people look at me like I'm crazy. I heard of people making those at a subway in Florida but they were reprimanded. So how did she taste? Seems like a new experience.

I've been lucky and had pepper seedlings given to me by friends -Thanks Demeter!!!!- and they LOVE it in my flower room.

It was a yummy broodwich. I guess Subway have no corporate sense of humor. Tehy should add it to the training manual.

There would have been but I couldn't find an evil enough pig, and had to be content with 666 kinds of other meat. Having come from the dim recesses of my fridge, it could be ANYTHING....

It is indeed.
It is an apparatus for the distillation of a very specific chemical that is used in the preparation of PCB samples for analysis by gas chromatography. It is generated as a gas and must be condensed and dissolved into a carrier solvent, in this case hexane, before collection and storage at VERY low temperatures- it has a nasty habit of exploding unnacountably.
That was my project yesterday, tweaking that apparatus to work on a carrier solvent it wasn't designed for.
So what should I put up as a profile pic tomorrow, lol?

Ironically, the apparatus was designed for use with Ether, which has been known to give the entire population of Da Lab the 'ethermunchies', even if you're using it under the hood! It STANKS!

The foil is simply to contain heat at the end where the compound is being generated.
The reaction only proceeds at temperatures approaching 100'C.
On the OTHER end, heat is something that is known to cause the product compound to explode, so it's kept in an ice bath.
The foil is insulation.
Don't you love my tinfoil sculpture? It reminds me of that awesome movie 'real genius' wiht the giant tinfoil popcorn ball...

Hang on I just put up a temporary pic from last thanksgiving, I'll put the hat stick back up in a min. That's from the day we clambaked the canoe- Donk, Jimbo, and I all had our old skanky Sox hats on that day. It was a good day.
