pipe screen too big?

hello everyone.. this is my first post here :)..

i'm brazilian and i live in denmark, and i've been smoking weed for some time now.. however, it's always my friends who roll the joints, or prepare the pipes when we smoke.. but now im not in brazil anymore.. so a few days ago i decided to buy a pipe for myself, 'cause i remember it felt better... and right now i have no friends who'll smoke it with me, so i have to prepare it myself..

anyway, the "problem" is just that when i bought it, the woman gave me pipe screens and all that (it's a wood pipe), and when i got home i really had no idea how to use it.. (yes, embarrassing).

now thanks to pictures on the net, and this forum, i see where you should put it.. BUT the pipe screen is just as big as the bowl, if not a little bigger.. it won't just fit Into it, like in the pictures ive seen.. i can only place it on top of the bowl and it stays there perfectly.. but yes it needs to be inside the bowl so that i can put the stuff there and smoke it..
so im just wondering if thats normal, and if i should just "squeeze it in" (which will give the pipe screen a cone-shaped form) and then put the stuff there and smoke it? or should i just look for smaller screens? it's not the biggest pipe in the world, you see.. it's not very small, but i dont know if i'd be able to find in a normal store (all the pipes you buy there are quite big).. and the place where i bought it is a bit too far/expensive for me to go there JUST for that.

i feel very lame having to ask this, but yeah.. :) thank you

Anyway, I've never used a screen, however, I'm fairly certain you can cut them down with a pair of scissors.

i always just shove the screens down with a pencil, and it works. but everyone i know just

cuts the screen to size, and puts it in.

thanks for the replies.. i thought about just shoving it down with the pencil now.. and cutting it sounds pretty good too.. i feel stupid for not thinking that before, but you know, i just didnt wanna do anything stupid... thanks again :)

dude dont cut it the edges will fray

just poke it down and smoke away

after every 2-3 bowls remove the screen hold with pair of tweezers and hold a flame underneath for 30secs - a min this will remove a lot of the build up so u can re-use

personally after 2-3 bowls i throw it away but if u cant remember where u put ur screens its handy to know

i always cut mine down to size and never have had problems with messed up edges. Otherwise the screen is too big

Don't use scissors to cut it, use a hole punch. Perfect screens every time, and you can get 3-4 out of one screen if you do it right.:thumbsup:

I just push the screen down. No cutting. Just shove it in there. The edges will fold.
