I feel very fortunate to be able to see and hear things of this world..but imagine that you only could have one...which one would you keep?

I really, really enjoy seeing all the beautiful things in the world. And I've got so much more to see! I would for sure choose sight.
I do love music and what not, but I love looking at things better.

Sound.

Without sound, there is no music to my ears.

Without music, I am nothing.

music is me. i love music and i really don't think i would want to live without it. so i would have to pick sound. also, i love to sing, and if i was deaf, i wouldn't be able to hear stuff i wanted to sing, and i wouldn't really be able to sing, which would make me horribly sad. i have to have music and be able to sing. i was going to pick sight, because i love seeing all the beautiful things in this world, and there is beauty in so many things. buuuuut...i have to be able to listen to music.

omfg... lol... i just tried to wipe your avatar off my screen.....

and i'd still be able to post... you realize computers are blind friendly now right? as for driving.... meh... i'd rather live the rest of my life without driving then not being able to listen to my music.

Well... if i HAD to choose, i would keep my vision... being blind would make me very dependent of another people, what i simply couldnt stand, as i love being alone and as independent as possible.
I also love music, and hearing is a very useful sense, of course, but i would still prefer my vision.

Im already deaf ,
It's not all that bad . Hell, at times it's a luxury . I'd much rather be deaf than blind .

All you folks worried about music , I can still feel it . 80% of the time there's a cure/fix for being deaf = cochlear implant . Most of the time there's no cure for blindness .

I feel for my bro. Bluebear . G/B man

Well the first thing i thought of would be the lack of sight of the beautiful female body. At least i can't hear her nagging.

The bud is the most important issue. I'd rather see the seed in the bowl than hear it crack.

As much as I love music, my tunes would have to come in second to being able to see. Without sight, tons of things can happen beyond your control. Just think about that one.

Give me my sight. At least if i get hit by a MARTA bus trying to cross Peachtree in Atlanta, I'll at least see what hit me.

And BGIT, you hit the nail on the head! Just think if the seed popped a foot or so away from you on your highly flammable couch, and started a fire. You'd surely smell it, right? Surely you'd smell the smoke, right? But then you are SMOKING already, right? WOULD YOU smell the smoke?

And then, with sight gone, your other senses would be heightened, right? Well, maybe, may be not...

I'd rather see the seed pop, than have to wonder if my arse is on fire or not, LOL....

I've had this debate before with my friends and i would keep my sight and learn to lipread :D altho i would miss my music baddddd, i suppose i could still imagine it

But main reason i would keep sight is so i could still walk around without feeling vulnerable (have you ever tried walking 10 steps with your eyes closed?) and i wouldn't be able to do any sports, although a guide dog would be cool, not worth it though

thats a hard question.

if i had no sight i couldn't ride my bicycle.
if i could not hear then i could not listen to music.

bikes and music are my favorite things...

i choose to keep my sight.

stick your head on 'em and listen <.< they make nice pillows...

Well... its easily explainable... women almost never are satisfied how they look like, so, being blind is a turn on...
Yet, women LOVE to talk, gossip, complain, and such... so, being deaf is a turn off... :p

If I could only keep one of those two senses, I'd keep eyesight. Sound I feel I could do without. It'd take some adapting. But sight is still, to me, the greater gift. On the rare occasions right now when I get to enjoy complete silence and quietness, I really treasure it. I'm sure permanent silence would get old, but I do think it'd be something I could get accustomed to.
