I picked up Orange Box for the 360 this past week. It contains 5 great games. 3 of which are completely new to everyone
Half - Life 2
Half - Life 2 - Episode 1
Half - Life 2 - Episode 2
Portal
Team Fortress 2
Now I haven't played any of the Half Lifes, I'm still working on Half Life 1 that I picked up for the PC. So I'm not playing the HL2 section of the disc. But I have tried the other two and I'm amazed.
Portal - is probably the most innovative game this year, and probably in years, it's not very long but it's VERY VERY addicting, and fun, and absolutely hilarious. You awaken to find yourself in a testing facility apparently hired on to do training with a top secret device that creates portals. You are led through this training by a very eccentric and hilarious computer program. The gameplay is a bunch of crazy puzzle rooms one after another. The games visual style fits absolutely perfectly with the gameplay and with the quirky nature of the place. I find the final boss to be the best final boss I've faced in years.
Team Fortress 2 - I have tried this out some and I'm quite impressed. It visually looks like a comic book, and it's very comical in nature but the game is very solid, there is only 6 levels to play on but each one is VERY well thought out unlike other multilayer FPS games where you have 16 maps but only 2 are worth playing on. All 6 of these are worth playing on. The characters are quite different and are far more than a palette change. Each one has a set of weapons it can use, and depending on it's class may be more or less effective with them. A few classes may have usage of a shotgun, but scouts only get a bonus as they specialize in them. Each class has their own stats, some are fast some are slower, some have more or less health. There are scouts, spies (spies seem neat they can cloak in invisibility or disguise themselves as a member of the other side) medics, demomen, heavy artillery.. a pretty large array of classes to choose from I can't quite remember them all.
It's out right now for PC and 360, and will be out soon for PS3, I'd highly recommend this purchase. 5 amazing titles in their own right all wrapped up into a package that costs the price of only 1 game. I don't see how it can be passed up.
