Okay, are you ready for this?
Blazed out of my mind, I walked right into the middle of a paintball war.
I was just taking a stroll in the woods near my place, vaping and smoking a wee bit of trichomes and listening to some tunes. It turns out I underestimated how potent they could be, and ended up tripping balls about a mile away from where I thought I was, in front of a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. Oops. So I backpedalled. I could hear a sound like hammers on wood, and tried to make my way stealthily through dry leaves just in case I was on somebody's property. Of course, I came out of the bush right in the middle of a paintball war.
Everyone on the field looks at me, very confused, and before anyone tries to tag me I throw up my arms and yell "WHOA!" I look around slowly to make sure everyone's cool, and I politely ask "Am I on somebody's property?"
One guy stands up and says "No, not for a bit yet."
"Wow, I definitely walked too far." I look around, rather dazed, and say "Hey, you guys have a pretty sweet setup here."
"Thanks man, we've been putting it together for the past couple of weeks or so."
Another guy pipes up, cigarette dangling next to a lip ring. "What were you looking for out here? There's no stores or houses for a long ways."
I panick a little bit, despite my honest intentions. The dude does have a gun. "Oh I was just going for a walk. I definitely walked too far though, sorry."
"No problem, no problem. Hey, do you want to play? One of our guys is leaving soon."
Normally, I would love to, but I know that doing this high is probably not the best idea, especially if I've never played before. "Nah man, I don't have any shitty clothes, otherwise I'd be down." I look around again. "Well, you guys have fun. Try not to get hurt."
"Yeah, have a good one."
After that I pretty much booked it back home. Along the way I saw these wierd white ghosty shapes running away from me. It took me a few seconds to realize that they were three white-tailed deer (probably), so I tried tracking them by the sound of their footsteps, only to realize that it was in fact robins digging holes in the leaves. I also saw a hot air balloon floating right over me, which was a helluva lot more surreal than it sounds.
In any case, I don't think I'll be walking down there again.
