i have been in vegitative for about two months and it looks like my plants have stoped growing. i think it is from over watering.

I am using 2 26 watt cfls and 2 24 inch fluros

cal mag and grow terra once a week

use to water every day now every two to 3 days

great air circulation.

any feed back please

well depending on how big your plant is could be from lack of light

how big of a pot is it in? could be root bound....

whats' your ph? could be nute lockout

you haven't really given us much to go on here...especially w/no pics

That is a good question.. for me.. I am a faithful FoxFarm user and ..I have 2/2 gal. pots in 2/22 gal rubbermaid tubs from wal-mart, with the cheap bathroom 3 bulb fixtures kit/bath for $7.97, 6/ 26 watt cfls.. trying to, post pics.. yes got my idea from here step by step and it works and so far all the feed back I get on my growing ??'s get answered. There are ALOT of people in here that are fucking x-perts at this shit. I wish I was. I am learning, like you. My soil was 8qt. MG Perilite and 8 qt. MG seedling starter. I tried the great enriched coco shit and cant stand it.. I am a little old school though.. and that other soil dries so fast under the lights. Hopefully I can upload some pictures. :)
I have 2 fans, my x-haust is twice as much as my intake, I am vegging them 18 hours on . Feeding them FoxFarm Big Bloom until second week, than Big Grow 2 tsp. and 3 TBL. FF BB.. I have a chart.. I also just bought some Super Nover for Flowering with my BB.. anyone used the Nova yet for nutrients.?.. Oh Yea.. Can anyone give me some expert advice about topping my plants and when.. We need them to bush not really shoot.. working with all femmed buba cush female seeds..fingers croseed.. 2 -2 gal buckets..in a 3' x 3'x 24".......great help so far anyways! I have 2 separate grow boxes, one 2/32 gal and one 22 gal. Great idea!
Answer both ??'s get dbl. points..lol..oh well Lets fire up.

hit me back.

ok now i have put a little more $ in to my garden. i have 4 48 inch 6500k fluros and two cfls. also i was wondering whats better 24/7 light or like 18/6. i am posting pics soon of my sickly ladies

also i have turned my fans up there is more movent because if i am suffering from over watering then that willl suck some up correct. I am on day 2 with no water and they are getting color back soil is still very wet tho

Ok I am using CAL MAG with gro terra(gro terra is self buffering ph for soil ) any suggjestions as to what i should use or will that work threw veg

in the mean time i think i will read up and:rastabong: it up

why are you vegging so long? they should be ready to go into flower....how tall are they?

i'm a fan of 18/6....IMHO 24/7 promotes to fast of growth - you get tall thin stalks with a weak root system that can't support it.....the growth and hormonal changes that occur during 6hours of dark are just as important as what happens during 18hrs of light

OK, I'm no expert but based on my own very recent experience... when they aren't growing you most likely have a ph problem which is affecting the plants ability to absorb nutrients. Or, your ph is good but your nutrients suck.... but again MOST likely ph problem.
I had this problem and when I finally got a good digital ph meter then BOOM the plants took off like crazy. If I had just bought one from the beginning I would have saved a month off my veg time.

Seriously, save yourself the time and the pain and go get yourself a digital PH meter. Without it you are in lala-land forever. Your tap water is most likely way too high ph.. .or if you add too many nutes then you can get way too low very quickly. You can waste money on lights, nutes and everything else, until you get ph right they won't grow.
Secondly I would spend $30 bucks or so on a standard 3 part nutrient supply from GH or AN.
With those two things you can basically go from start to finish.

i wish you good luck. Veg is 18 on 6 off, for me. I feed mine Fox Farm Big Bloom, and now Fox Farm Big Grow.. Than Fox Farm Tiger Blooms in the end.. great system.. ph is good between 6.3-7.0 depending..I think distilled water is the best.. dont buy.. fill up gal. jug let it sit covered room temp for 24 hours. That distills it. Overwatering is a problem to.. I cant wait to see my girls..Bubba Kush.. cant wait.. one is my avatar. Good Luck!

ummm no way dood....
distilled water is made by boiling it.....water converts to steam/vapor and when it condenses it leaves out the impurities

simply leaving a jug of water uncovered won't distill it

][/i] fill up gal. jug let it sit covered room temp for 24 hours. That distills it.
Nope.
Here's a pic of a distillation apparatus.
You have to boil the water and then run it through a tube that has a chiller coil either built in, or wrapped around it.
Contact with the cold glass condenses the vapor back to liquid form.
As mineral impurities don't vaporize at 100'C, they are left behind in the original beaker and in the case of tap water will be visible as a calcium 'scale' when all the water is gone.

As for the original question, it's quite likely that you are pot-bound and you may have salt buildup in your soil. Flsuh well, transplant, and feed with a weak solution of grow fert.

What did you make yourself? The ballast? The base? The bulb?:smokin:

I'm not even sure how big the bases on 100W MH's are, but they're probably about the size as a standard incandescent bulb. You didn't plug it into an incandescent light socket, did you?

About your "over watering" issue...what kind of soil are you using, and what have you done to aerate the soil? It sounds like it's staying way too soggy, so perhaps adding a 30-50% mix of perlite next time would do you some good. If the soil doesn't have time to dry out, your roots basically suffocate...and this, of course, will pretty much bring a halt to all growth.

Of course, it could be a number of other things (pH, nutrient lock, etc.). But, from what you've described, it almost sounds like your soil has the consistency of mud...which makes it very difficult for your roots to get any oxygen.
