Hey i thought i read somewhere that Mercury Vapor bulbs work well. IM not sure what stage either flowering or veggin but i bought a 100W bulb a while back. Could this be used while my plant is just sprouting? And if not, what bulb is best for a 2 week old plant? thanks for any feedback

I have heard that Mercury Vapor lights will work, but not as well as a MH or a HPS plus Mecury Vapor lamps put off more heat than either a MH or HPS. That is why they arent used.

You can use them, but they will not put out enough of the right light for the plant. To start use cfl's and then MH for veg, then HPS for flowering. You can and a lot of poeple use the HPS all the way from to flower.Use the cfl's till you get two or three sets of leaves and then the hid lights. PEACE
