U.K. Judge Rules Gore's Climate Film Has 9 Errors
LONDON, Oct. 11 -- A British judge has ruled that Al Gore's Oscar-winning film on global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth," contains "nine errors."
High Court Judge Michael Burton, deciding a lawsuit that questioned the film's suitability for showing in British classrooms, said Wednesday that the movie builds a "powerful" case that global warming is caused by humans and that urgent means are needed to counter it.
But he also said Gore makes nine statements in the film that are not supported by current mainstream scientific consensus. Teachers, Burton concluded, could show the film but must alert students to what the judge called errors.

In the "70"s the big thing was Global Cooling due to carbon dioxide. NOW a group says it's getting warmer because of the same. Do some research and you'll find that not all of the scientific world bows to Al Gore and Company.
But hey, buy into his act and in the meantime he'll keep on the private jets, powering up his mansions and getting your cash though the carbon offsets....in which he owns a big share of the business. Nice scam, even got him a Nobel Peace Prize.

Hahahaha thats exactly what I was thinking. Al Gore has made winning the noble prize as about as meaningful as winning an emmy or oscar. I don't think anyone could care less.
But then again, even if the left IS wrong about global warming (which I think it is) that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to live better and go green anyway. You know, just in case.

If Al Gore is a hypocrite, then that is his business (at least he is creating activists at the grass roots level), but calling out hypocrites does not solve the problems of our decaying natural environment. Let us know what you are doing to help the problem.

Sometimes people with money actually do good deeds. Nobody is perfect however, not as perfect as you are. Let's see your environmental resume...

With all due respect, I have a hard time taking you seriously outside of the post a sexy picture of yourself thread. There is no LEFT or RIGHT. I am not a Leftist, and I want clean water and air. "Go green...just in case?" That is just plain silly. Everybody knows that organic is better than chemical. We do not need any new science on the issue. Green is better, and it always has been.

Does it make you all feel better about the world to complain about Al Gore? I mean, look in the mirror for crying out loud.
We all live in the environment, so we are all responsible for keeping it clean.
If people are shitting in the public pool, and Al Gore comes along and says, "Hey guys, there is shit in the pool. This ain't good," and then makes a movie about the shitting in the pool and does not get all of the facts strait...maybe he even left the biggest turd....I do not care. At least he called attention to it on a massive scale. As long as it gets people noticing that their is shit in the pool, then it is a good thing.
Global warming is real. The earth sometimes gets colder, and sometimes gets hotter. Currently, it is getting warmer. That is the trend. If you do not believe that, I do not know why.
The real argument is whether it is being caused by humans, and you know what? It does not matter. The point is that we live like greedy animals on fossil fuel when we have the money and the resources, and the technology to live on sustainable resources. I do not care if Al Gore is the biggest liar in the world. He brings awareness. The point is this:
You are harming the planet, yourself, and your neighbors if you:
Eat meat.
Eat dairy.
use incandescent light bulbs.
Run gas powered equipment or vehicles.
Farm inorganically.
I could make a longer list, but I will save electricity for the moment.
Are not actively engaged in pushing for a switch from wood pulp paper to hemp paper.
The list goes on...I just cannot understand why anybody on this board would want to attack somebody who, if not perfect, has done a lot to raise global awareness...especially those who are growers and understand the huge environmental catastrophe of genetically modified food, livestock, and inorganic/pesticide driven agriculture.
If Al Gore takes a private jet, or has a ten million dollars, who cares, that is his cross to carry...if he does not have all of his facts straight, bully for him. Lots of people are millionaires and do nothing at all. He could have just moved to Florida and opened up a night club. But no, he is spreading awareness, and I will allow him a few shortcomings. What are any of you doing for the planet?

I'm so sick of hearing about global warming. The climate has been changing since the earth started its existence and it will continue to change regardless of what humans do or do not do. Like p4b said, 30 years the hype was a fear of global cooling.
Scientists have drilled deep into the ice near the pole, taken core samples and determined that 2 million years ago Iceland was a tropical jungle. Who was responsible for that?
The Nobel committe has forever cheapened their award. Awarding it based on hype makes it meaningless. The only upside I can see to this is that "everyone" is now speculating the Gore might enter the presidential race ...and I'd love to see what that would do to Hillary. She would come totally unhinged.

Yeah 'going green' could probably only be a good thing, but the whole spreading awareness could also be bad, we could be worrying about and spending money on something that is impossible to change or is just natural..

Excellent point, jakez!
California's No.1 girly-man, governor Benedict Arnold Schwarzenegger, just signed a bill to increase auto registration fees in California. The purpose - to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to give to oil companies so that they can reduce greenhouse gasses.
Talk about a rip-off! As if oil companies aren't making record profits and don't have any money of their own to spend.
As with most government "emergencies", the average person takes it in the ass while the mega rich get mega richer.

We're going to have to start using renewable resources eventually. Even if global warming isn't real we should act now. Pollution isn't doing us any favors and we can't just rely on oil forever.
I don't really have a problem with Al Gore or his movie but I find it funny(I'm not sure why) that he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

People don't hate him because he is bringing "awareness"! They can't stand him because he is full of shit! Global Warming is a natural occurrence there is plenty of science to back it up. I mean there are ice caps melting on Mars for crying out loud (Bright sun, warm Earth. Coincidence? (http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/story.html?id=551bfe58-882f-4889-ab76-5ce1e02dced7)), and I doubt it is due to SUV's or whatever else you want to blame it on. Al Gore is just part of a scheme to suck more dollars out of the population. Hell I even seen a news clip on how they're blaming children on global warming!
You're right we shouldn't need Gore to bring awareness to us all. We should be doing things on our own to make the environment better for everyone.
Just wanted to ask you a question. How is eating meat and dairy harming the environment? Do you mean just eating meat and dairy in general, or is there more behind your reason?

Obviously you have no concept of the emergent nature of global warming and the sacrifices we must make to save our planet. :D
The problem with consuming meat and dairy is that doing so means that farmers have to keep large herds of cows - and cow farts contribute to global warming! :wtf:
As hard as it may be to believe, that is seriously the reason why.

Al Gore is as full of shit as a Christmas turkey ... but, he sure had his priorities together when he setup his 'carbon footprint' horseshit, into turning a personal profit ... oh, next time you attend one of his pseudo-scientific events, ask him how the 'footprint' is holding up in his 'strategic oil reserves' near Lost Hills, CA, setup and owned by his Senator Daddy ... btw, if Gore is such hot shit, how come he couldn't even carry his home state of Tennessee, in the elections, even with the power of 'Daddy Gore's Political Machine' behind him ? ... oh, yeah, now I remember, its because we 'stole' the election ... :S2:

i'm getting sick and tired of all of these prizes and awards, they are nothing more than political bullshit in one way or another. in this case it's just the politics of wealth redistribution through the use of scare tactics. al is just another idiot trying to prolong his fifteen minutes of fame and it seems to be working. the poor boy is just too stupid to understand that he's just being used in this transparent game and he is reveling in the childish notion that he might be taken seriously by the international scientific community. i can just imagine the infantile glee with which he proudly proclaims, "gee, now i be a real scientist".
