If the stem doesn't snap clean then it's to moist.

If you need to dry it out;
turn oven on high, and put it on some foil. Then place this on the top back part ( ventilation, where your oven meets the wall there should be a grid of metal or something ).
or
prop open the baggie with something, put a few small peices of toilet paper in there and leave in a warm place.
or
microwave it 10 seconds at a time on the lowest setting you can have. Flip and check it in between. You MUST be careful because if you go too far you end up with some bad tasting bud.
If you end up drying it out too much then you can throw some orange/lemon peel in there for a couple of hours. This moistens it up and makes it taste great.
or
boil the kettle, and put your bud in the steam quickly and rotate it, then let it dry for a bit

Why would you ever put water in the glass jar full of pot? that is just asking for mold, IMHO.

200-275 F for 5-7 minutes is probably safer. The "High" setting on most ovens is usually 500 F or above, thus vaporizing your fine erb.

Instead of baking it can't you just leave it in the open air for a few hours in a dry place? I think you could run the risk of ruining the weed altogether by putting it in an oven. I keep my stash in a small rubber maid container. If it is too moist, I leave the lid off the container for 4-6 hours. If it is too dry I put a small carrot in the container for a few hours. It works and it is simple.

If you need to dry out a small stash, just leave it on a sheet of kitchen towel on an electrical appliance like a T.V or DVD player, or just on the side.
Best to remove it from a baggie if it's being dried.
