View Full Version : Cat got into my plants!

So somehow my cat managed to get into my closet, and into the boxed off area where my plants are. There is no major damange, just some leaves broken off and they were bent over. The plants are in their 2nd week of flowering. Will this encounter cause them enough stress to slow or stop flower growth? And does anyone know if its bad for a cat to eat some pot leaves?

Your cat should be fine, but keep it away from buds.
As long as no growing tips were damaged, you have nothing to worry about.
Bad kitty! haha

Cannabis is not bad for animals. They love to eat it because it's good for them.

No harm shall come to your plants from feline intervention!

And, my cat's a stoner too. She's just too afraid of my fans to go in there. She loves to smoke though.

Thanks for the info guys. The plants are fine now but i think the encounter may have slowed growth a bit, each plant lost a couple leaves. Anyways i uploaded a couple pictures, hopefully they show up with the post. Let me know what you think.

Looking good. Are you using any more light than those two in the picture? Especially during budding, I would put a couple more CFLs above the plants too. Hopefully red wavelength.

And your cat couldn't get stoned from eating weed unless it was somehow heated first to process the THC.

I have a cat that eats mostly sunleaves but also likes a ripe bud. I have always let her have at it or give her a male plant to chew on.

I have to say that if a cat got into my stash........it would DEFINATELY be BAD for it!!!

Which the cat or the stash, or both?

My cat loves the raw plant too. It's kind of like catnip to her. She plays with it and chews on it a little here and there.

Opie, I do have two 25in flouros over on top, i just moved them to take the pics. I just got a temp/humidity gauge yesterday and its reading between 75-80 degrees F and just under 50% humidity. From what I have read that sounds ok, but any comments/advice would be helpful. Here are a couple pics I took yesterday also, can't wait to smoke em! Thanks for the rep spongebob

I snipped a leaf yesterday and gave it to my cat, he just sniffed it and walked away. Guess he had enough the first time.

I heard that some cats don't get high the first time they smoke.

you sir/madam are talking shit...you need to do a search about thc toxicity in animals brfore telling people stupid shit that you obviously are making up or passing on moronic information that you didn't confirm first, which makes you a.... well you get my drift....BE NICE TO YOUR ANIMALS PEOPLE THEY LOVE EVEN WHEN THEY SHOULDN'T SO STOP BEING MEAN....and for those that are gonna say my dog comes over when i'm blazin' ..... that my be true but you have (maybe unknowingly) trained him to do so..

Perhaps you should lighten up a little. Eating raw weed will do nothing to an animal, except fill up it's stomach, or perhaps give them a tummy ache if they eat too much. Did you take your own advice and first confirm that it is bad before essentially calling someone an idiot? Besides I've never heard of an animal actually eating much. I know my cat just kind of plays around with it much the same as she does with catnip. Occasionally she nibbles on a branch or something, but she's not consuming much if any. I think she just likes to rub it all over herself.

I'd say that some animals that smoke weed were trained to do so, but not all. I've never trained my dogs to smoke, they just want to because they want to do what I am doing, and it is enjoyable for them just like it is for us. I never tried to get my cat to smoke. She just saw that I was smoking, and then the smoking bong, and went up to it and started licking the inside while smoke was coming out. Ever since then she comes running and meowing when she hears a lighter click. Could you please tell me how letting your animals smoke with you is not nice? Cause I'm just not getting it. My animals are like my friends, and I'm thinking just the opposite of what you are saying. It would be mean of me to smoke in front of them and not let them partake.

hilarious pic, 420. I wish my cat was that cute, hes no kitten anymore though. Opie im with you on the whole "being nice to animals" thing. If the cat/dog seems to enjoy getting a little stoned, im sure not gonna stop it.

That is a great pic 420! My mother is a feline fanatic & an amateur horticultural hobbyist (though, not the type that would fancy this the topic of this website). Anyway, I'll have to try and find the full-sized version of that picture & send it to her. She'd love it! Because of her compassionate feline nature, she'd probably yell at me if she saw what I was using for an avatar, though...

My dogs make a choice. When I smoke a joint or a bong or pipe, my dogs stay well away from the smoke, makes em sneeze. But when I break out the volcano, 2 of them like to be close and enjoy my company, the 3rd just does not care for it at all. Dogs are as individual as people are. If you allow it, they will make their own decisions, just like you and me.
my choice is to :rastasmoke:

kayakman, so your not using any hps just straight floros

kayakman04
11-07-2007, 12:24 AM
Correct, I know hps is way better but I just don't have the money for it, or the dedication. I'm not in the best position to be growing in the first place so when these are done I doubt I will start any more for a while. Maybe next year.

I'll take some new pics to post soon also.

Your grow could be like the M.A.S.H. unit. Except yours whould be the MAHASH unit. Mobile Ambulitory Hash unit. Take it down and put it up again, and do it all again.

i had one grow i had to disassemble and hide probably 10 times before harvest due to various circumstances. my grow is almost modular now. i am able to take everything down and hide it in 20 minutes.

both my cats got into my grow area only one time. they nipped off quite a few fan leaves but luckily didn't harm my plants. i give them trim sometimes.

Here are a few pictures I took a week or two ago. I actually chopped them all down last night. It was a little early but one had some stem rot and they all had some little white bugs on them. Either way I grew them from seeds so any harvest is a good harvest for me. I'll get some pics of the harvest once its all dried up. Thoughts, questions?
