I tried shrooms for the first time, they were fresh ones that we found in the woods, and i passed out and my friend had to give me cpr and revive me. it was scary as shit. how do i prevent from passing out? what happened? was it because it was my first time?

You really shouldn't be eating mushrooms that you find growing in the woods, not all contain psilocybin and many mushrooms, even those that look remarkably similar to psychoactive mushrooms could be poisonous and may even kill you. Don't eat any mushrooms until you get them identified by a mycologist in your area.

Yeah i'd say you likely ate some poisonous mushrooms... I would advise not doing that again...

you gotta like squeeze the stem and if it bruises/stains blue then its the right kinda shroom.

You are an idiot, and you probably should have died. Just buy shrooms from a dealer, its not like they are expensive or anything. Im gettin an oz tomorrow for a little over 200 bucks. :o

Just so everyone knows, mushrooms need to be grown in a completely sterile environment. Even experienced mushroom growers can get a batch that gets contaminated. Even a strain that contains psylocibin can get contaminated by a little bacteria which could make it fatal. Unless you are gettin mushrooms from a trusted source, dont eat them unless you are suicidal. ;)

You know how many shrooms will bruise bluish black? Even contaminated shrooms will bruise blue

And if you needed to be revived using CPR, that's definitely not a Psilocybe

actually it could have been a mental thing, do not forget that. my friend woke up after a night of shrooming and felt like he was going to faint so he crawled back in bed while holding on to the walls to not fall. so it may not have been the wrong shrooms. but then again the odds are against them being of a psychadelic nature.

Yeah, eating nature hunt shit is generally not wise, period. And as for the rule about the psilocybin mushrooms bruising blue, that's really not an effective safeguard. Yes, it's true that they do that, but yes, it's also true that they can be contaminated with god knows what and still do that. Also, other mushrooms--poisonous varieties--will do the same thing.

I disagree, if you know what your looking for you should be alright, I've always picked my own and never had anything I would discribe as life threatening, I know what to look for, I know what the ones that look almost but not quite identicle but can be fatal look like. Research. The information is there. Then you just have the paranoia and flashbacks to worry about. :)

"Knowing what you're doing" entails more than just the blue-bruise rule. A little bit of knowledge can be dangerous--best to have a lot of knowledge.
