So, how's everything
I've been growing my 1st grow for a month and four days (in 1hr and a half it'll be five days) and I'm going to show my pics from when I first started (I got about 60 pics) and up to today... and tomorrow (1hr and a half away) I'm going to start flowering.
My setup is VERY VERY HALF ASSED AND BASIC!!!! Which is making me realy wonder what I'm going to get in the end (looks good though, that is, if their female) I am using no nutes just sink water, 3 CFL's and now, two seperate pieces of a big card board box (from my punching bag stand), a closet, sta-green soil, a fan, and two seeds picked off from a male plant my friend had... Sorry, but I need to go to bed, got school. So i'll be posting EVERYTHING TOMORROW at about 5:00PM or 6:30PM... Peace!!! :thumbsup:

9/5/07 So, this is I guess about two weeks into my adventure:thumbsup: (finally some damn pics, I have no clue how long my plants have been growing in this pic so I'm guessing two weeks, but I do know that this pic was tooken on 9/5/07...) I have tin foil under the plant's. Two of them are in cut off pieces of water bottles and I put the plant I thought was doing best in a bigger pot, right now they are in used miracle grow soil (like 7 months old), and they are under one 65watt equivalent (from now on I'm abbreviating "watt equivalent" so i'm gonig to use WE) CFL and one 150WE CFL, both are in lamps from Wally world (insides of the lamps are white). 9/27/07 Only two plants now:(, BUT my plants are looking good!!!:thumbsup:. The plant's are not in the same pot, I just transplanted one and the put them together. The Sta-green soil that it's in has been overflown with water twice for the "flush" because the bag said it will feed for nine months, same thing for my other plant in the next pic...

So, now my plant's are back in the dark part of 12/12 (I hope complete darkness), I put them in the dark at 10:00PM, so I guess day three of my flowering can start at 10:00PM (2 hours ago) but i'll just keep it simple starting at twelve will be the next day of flowering.
I haven't told you about my set up huh??? Well, like I said half assed... They are in my closet just covered with two large pieces of card board box covered with towels and shirts:stupid: and any other random stuff i found to fill holes I could see:i feel stupid:, oh yeah I have a fan in my closet (since the beginning). I really really want to see what I'll get out of this when everyone else's set up is more if not much more complex then mine. SOOOO, I'm going to do a comparison with other people's grows with mine and see how much more of a yield they get then me... Let's see if having a more expensive, "better" setup, giving nutes, setting ph, and all that other stuff is worth it:D. Oh yeah how do you like how I list my pics, times, dates, ect.?.?.?

It is definately...worth it....to invest.

By not doing it right your actually losing out.

I understand it is your first grow..I am in progress with mine as well..but you really should read read read research research research and just do it right fro mthe get-go as to avoid frustration and time that you could have spent doing it the right way and gettting a few oz's of dank bud.

My 2 cents but hey I think growing it is funner then smoking it even so good luck man:thumbsup:

thats pics from a phonE? wow .. i must be too outfashioned.. your plants are looking great. always keep things to level, although they grow fast they are still plants you cant expect them to do everything in light speed. dont overfert, dont mess around and do not harvest early like most people do .. its a real shamer. patience pays off.

I guess I'll be posting pics every two day's in the light period of 12/12, or I might just do one every time I switch back on the lights (at 10:00PM) tonight... and I read read read and researched about growing and I know a good amount, but I don't have money for that stuff, so once this bud is grown and sold I will spend that money for a better set up and better accessories for a better crop... and I'm thinking of doing the ScROG technique too with some one inch looking chicken wire that I found in my backyard, I'll post a pic and tell me if you think it would be good...and I'll be posting some plant pics at about 10:15PM tonight

i just finished a grow in a very small space and all i used was 8 23w cfl's. my box was about 1' x 2.5'x 5' tall. the plants were kinda short because i tried to scrog em (that didnt go as well as i'd like) but they've got some really nice fat punky buds and i'm guessing once they're dry, i'll get about 2 to 2 1/2 oz's. the bulbs cost me $20.00 at home depot, the electricity is included in my rent, and the quart of white paint cost me about $5.00. oh yeah...the timer and the power strip were about 15.00. I just cut em down so i'm hopin they'll be dry and ready to smoke in about a week. ( i'd love to post pics but I dont have a camera) that'll be my next investment. So you can really grow some good smoke on a budget. your's look good so far, I cant wait to see more of em

Well since you are in flowering more light cant hurt.... So yeah I would def get at least 1 more compact flo... 2300k or so..

So, where would I get that at, maby home depot??? Cause when I go to Wally world they don't have the red or yellow spectrum (at least I don't think so...), or perhaps lowe's home improvement (It's closer to my house)... And do they sell any light bulbs at stores that have a higher WE then 150 in CFL's, in stores, not online...

from all the shots i cant see enough growth to determine its sex yet. most of it is secondary growth starting out. ill take some shots of my girls to show you an example of topping and where to snip.

ok my pics were hard to use so i just used yours instead.
the last pic is of one of my clones in recovery from a PH issue. it was a tiny clone with only one node and no top just 2 shade leaves. 10 days later i had 2 nice secondary shoots coming up. tonight she goes into a 5 gallon pot for another month of veg or maybe shell be the clone mom.

First, I got another 150WE CFL I looked everywhere on the box to tell me the spectrum, or "soft white" but could not, I'll post a pic so maby you can tell the spectrum.

Light bulbs= 2 150WE CFL's, and 2 65WE CFL's...

I'll be posting a pic of my lights in an hour and a half or two...

I think my plants should be showing their sex right about now!!!!:D Shouldn't get my hopes up though...

They are all males dude. Sorry to say that. Females have thin football shaped things with 2 white hairs coming out of them. The males have males that stack on top of each other. Get some new seeds started.

Well, thanks to everyone, I guess I'll start a new batch of seeds, this time I'm planting three that I will keep alive... (Last time one died remember???) Germination starts today 11:15PM paper towel technique. Not starting a new grow log, I'll have more fun in this one:D

Plant 1 will use the topping technique every node:thumbsup:
Plant 2 will be getting the LST:thumbsup:
Plant 3 will get a mix of LST and topping (I'm going to have fun with this one:D)
