Hi,

is there difference if you cure your own buds or not when smoking from a vaporizator?

Was just thinking, as I guess the crystals would be the only thing to toke from a vaporizator.

hrm, thats a good question. I would assume that it would work better when its cured just because if the bud was moist the temp of the vape might have to be higher. But, theres really only one way to find out;)

Hi kids, I do a "test toke" now and then on some green bud. The first 2-3 hits taste "green", but then, you start getting an idea what the bud will be like (only it will be much better later!). I don't really bother to dry it- I just put a bit of bud on top of a plastic aquarium hood that has a small light. After an hour, it's dry enough to vape.

It is not a good idea to vape green bud too often. The hose on my VB can get excessive amounts of water vapor in it. This can lead to unsanitary hoses- fungi and bacteria. :( Plus it cuts into the eventual harvest. That bit of bud would have doubled in size at least! So once in a long while, OK. As an everyday thing...nope. - Granny:hippy:

ea its fine to smoke if uncured you usually jus need to give it a couple tokes first to get the full flavours an vapours goin but it works fine. its better if its dryer or cured weed tho

Crystal hits are the best, I feel so positive and energized after I do them. I am doing one right now! I usually feel like cleaning up around the house or doing the dishes, it's a lot of fun.

I agree with kz1000r. Curing is meant to further evenly dry the bud so its not too moist on the inside and outside. Drying is important not only to prevent bud rot, but both stages are important for converting the THC from its acidic form to its neutral, psychoactive form (might be the other way around). I assume the bud would be more potent once its fully dryed evenly throughout. More of the THC is converted. I assume the reaction takes time so just putting it in the vape will not be enough time to do it fully... but I've done it myself and its ok. Not as good as dryed/cured...

with the hotplate type vaporizers, having a wetter herb actually helps teh vaporizing proscess. as water is a good conductor of heat, and also helps prevent burning of teh plant matter, it tends to heat your pot more evenely, making it more of a vaporizer, and less of a smokerizer.

but then again most vaporizers where the herb is directly on the element arent very good (exept a choice few which use glass elements, and are very well designed. etc)
