View Full Version : Help! What bulb should I use w/ this lamp?

I got this adjustable lamp that works really well. It can hold up to 250 watts so I'm wondering if some of you guys can help me choose the right bulb. I'll be growing only one aurora indica from nirvana seeds, if it helps at all.

I wouldn't use a lamp like that personally, but if that was the only choice, I'd get three socket splitters, and the four highest wattage CFL's I could find.

If the holder is only 250w , can you use a splitter and put 2 x 250w bulbs in ???

The holder says it can handle 250W. So i'm not sure if a splitter with two 250w bulbs will work or not. Right now this lamp is pretty much my only option in my situation. Will one 250w bulb be sufficient to grow one plant? What are the consequences of only using one 250w bulb?

No you can't use more than 250W total.
What kind of 250W bulb are you talking about?
I don't know of any 250W CFL's.
250W HID's need a ballast.
250W incandescent will not work well for growing.

Okay. I was thinking of a 250W CFL. Or anything really that will fit and work well for a grow.

Does the brand have to be envirolite? Or can i just go to home depot and get a 125 watt cfl?
