Last night I went over my buddies house to play ping pong / smoke for a little bit. After we had smoked we were sitting outside on their lawn chairs and all of a sudden it felt like I swallowed a big ass bug or something. I dunno what it was but it freaked me out. Anyways, it feels like my throat is swollen this next morning, but realisticly theres no way I swallowed a bug just sitting there.

My question is, is it possible to burn your throat by smoking a bowl? Ive never had this happen to me before and ive been smoking for about a year now. I did have a screen in, so no burning bud could have flown back into my throat...

Any ideas?

Well... if the smoke were too hot, or you inhaled too deeply, its possible to burn your throat... but you should feel it instantly... and not after some time...

To clarify..I did feel it pretty much instantly after the hits...but i'm still feeling a small bit today, pretty much gone now though.

Well... then probably you actually burned your throat... it happened with me some times, and is not pleasant... hopefully it stops hurting very soon... meanwhile, my best wishes and a fast recovery for you! :thumbsup:

Yeah man... way to chief that bowl. Hope that bug eating/burnt throat sensation goes away soon.

Man i got that from smoking out of a can and again out of a bong (same weed) my friend told me that the weed wasn't cleaned properly or something i dunno lol your not the only one.

spark, what was your method of consumption? if you enjoi the huge hits like that, i would go waterfall!

maybe some of that good smoke will cure what ails ya!

Ive noticed When you smoke oily soap bar you get that 'swallowed a bug' feeling in your throat , you can feel the oil on your tonsels !

I smoked it out of a bowl. The feelings pretty much gone away, but I thought I messed something up big time.
