Weed not legal but ALCOHOL is WTF

k just needed to vent but tell me when it has been proven that MJ isnt a gateway drug. It isnt any worse than smoking and I would say way better for you if you are using a vaporizer yet Drunk F@#kers mow people down with there cars everday. Die from liver problems, end up in the hospital with liver problems on the tax payers dime and its legal. I read awhile back about a jury and how one member convinced them to let the guy go who was getting charged with MJ. He talked about how during the prohibition the reason they had to relegalize alcohol is because the juries wouldnt convict people of it. Now if only we had some halfway intelligent people who understood that they could vote against the law on a jury and let all the MJ charges go. They would have no choice but to legalize it

I think most of us would love to get called for jury duty on a pot case so we could do just that. Alcohol is just to easy to make to ever control. I made it when I was in junior high, and in jail. Of course the same can be said of pot, though growing it in jail might be tricky.

And consider the fact that hemp paper is far superior to wood pulp paper and stops deforestation.

Hemp cloth can be wearable for 100 years, unlike cotton, that rots! (The cloth can be itchy at first, but we got fabric softeners now :D)

That hemp seed is one of the most nutritionally complete foods complete with a healthy dose of Omega - 3, to top it off. The seed oil can be used as a non-fish source of Omega -3, which can be important if you are pregnant and wish to avoid mercury.

I could go on, but the upshot is that hemp could make some "old money" people a lot poorer, and a lot of "poor" people richer and healthier! :thumbsup:

Every time there's a debate about legalizing marijuana, especially on ballot initiatives, they always gives reasons that are just rediculous because they already apply to alcohol and tobacco but 10x as worse. Some classics include:

-Tokers will kill people while driving stoned.
As opposed to alcohol which kills WAAAAAYY more people while drivers are drunk?

- Smoking weed gives you cancer.
As opposed to tobacco which is the nation's leading cause of lung cancer? and of course anybody who does some real research knows weed barely poses a cancer risk at all and suppresses many cancers.

- It makes people violent.
lol, yeah, remember that angry football-game riot fueled by marijuana? Oh wait, that's right, riots are usuallu fueled by alcohol! Fights break out between drunks all the time, how many people get stoned and start swinging? The notion is just so rediculous I can't believe they try to justify it.

- It kills brain cells.
Well actually, it moderately destroys glioma cells that only serve as packing around the brain and have the greatest potential to turn cancerous. It also selectively destroys cancer cells, and assists in programmed cell-death where old cells need to be pruned out. Meanwhile THC saturates healthy cells and prevents mutagenic molecules from getting to them, as well as acting neuroprotectively against physical trauma. So yeah, it destroys brain cells, in the best possible way:jointsmile:.

- More and more teens are going into rehab for marujuana addiction.
Of course they are, the judicial system and their parents are forcing them into rehab! Funny how it's teens that are overwhelmingly entering rehab, but not adults. It's almost as if... tokers don't need to go to rehab when not legally coerced!


oy I could go on and on... it saddens me that so many people are gullible to buy into the reefer madness. The (small) majority that still wants to keep it illegal just take the propogandist's word for it when they espew this crap, not actually checking the science themselves. It truly makes me wonder if non-tokers do have a higher prevailence of ignorance and stupidity when people have actually argued to me "marijuana makes you stupid, it's been scientically proven!". The second somebody argues with "it's been scientically proven" you know they don't understand the scientific method at all.

New tests have proven that MJ actually increased brain cell activity and there has been no proof that MJ causes cancer. The propaganda movie made about MJ in the 60s was financed by the alcohol companies. When legislators pushed to pass the bill to make MJ a dangerous drug and make it illegal they used the Mexican word for hemp which is marijuana which most people didn't know that they were the same plant. Hemp could take the place of thousands of products including cellophane. Before it was made illegal it was called the billion dollar crop which would have put hundreds of other companies out of business. It would have competed with the alcohol and tobacco companies and won, that's why it's illegal. Big money rules the world.

Just my personal observations:

I have seen many people get drunk and think they have become immortal fighting machines, and end up getting into a fight with some person who's just out for a beer, or go home and smack their partners around.

ALL of my friends I used to smoke with, we'd either chill out in someone's basement listening to or playing music, or tossing a star trek dvd in the player and zone out for a while.

Not hard to choose which is worse in my opinion.

You know I think about this stuff everyday and it just proves how ignorant the World really is. Like come on we are not the only country that puts people away. We actually have it more easy. It makes me hate the world I love so much.
