I haven't heard much, but a lot of my friends want to go to Canada next year to smoke a ton of weed. Last I heard, weed is still illegal there. So why do a lot of people on here want to move to Canada?

I probably shouldn't even post; I really don't know. But I've read from some canadians on here that it can be kinda tough to get medical mj. It might depend on the province. I'm in seattle and sometimes see stuff from b.c. that is truly gnarly. There's that whole difference between canada and french canada. I'd imagine the french ones would not be pro-cannabis. My feeble guess is that overall, you're probably at least a little safer legally in canada than in the u.s.:i feel stupid:

Cannabis is still illegal here. Depending on the amount you get caught with, the cop may choose to not turn you into a criminal. Grow ops generally carry a lower sentence than in the States depending on the nature of the op (ie. size, organized crime, sophistication, etc). However, properties have been seized and demolished.

Yes, it is still illegal, but the cops are "relatively" leanient, I mean, cops are people, and people are not all the same in their morale codes, some will let you slide if you get caught with 1-2g, some will bring the strong arm of the law on you full force, but weed is pretty easy to get up here, I'm in high school and its actually hard NOT to find a supply line if your looking, and a added bonus for moving to Canada?
