does this sound good?

high all! i will be starting a grow soon (sorry no grow log will be posted for i have no camera)


for the equipment i will be working with:



1. (flower) 400w hps digital ballast lighting system with cooltube

4. (veg) 25w daylight cfl lamps

1. 250cfm inline cetrifugal fan

1. 10 long x 8 wide carbon filter.


for nutrients and suplements i will be using:



botanicare. pure blend pro grow (veg)

botanicare. pure blend pro bloom (flower)

botanicare. calmag

superthrive.



grow enviroment


1. self build cab dimentions (T5'3xW32"xD31")

the cab will be sectioned into two parts a vegroom and a flower room

i will be doing a perpetual harvest type grow,

i will be growing northernlights and have seeds germinating right now

i will keep a mother plant and take clones every two weeks,

my plan is to put 2 plants in the flower section then a month later when those plants are half way done i will put two more in the flower section,

and in another month harvest the first two plants and put two more in there place,

then the next month harvest the second pair of plants i put in,

then put two more in there place, so i will constantly have 4 plants in the flower room,

i was gonna go with a 250w hps but the 400w is only 10 dollars more at the site i will be buying from so i said what the hell and desided when i get the light to just go for the 400w, i figure 400w on 4 plants will yeild some nice dense big buds (dont mean to jump the gun)

my goal is to harvest 2 ounces every month so i never have to spend $100usd for a 1/4 of shawgy seed and stem weed ever again (what i am paying now)


so does this setup sound good to you guys? do you think the
400w will good for 4 plants?

and i know that it is impossible to really say exactly but given the conditions i have stated could someone please give me a BALLPARK guestimate of how much i might yeild per plant? thats ballpark not exact i know that is impossible to tell,

i am good at growing vegitables and mushrooms so i think i will be able to get the hang of it pretty quick, i have also been reading cultivation related books and forums like this one since i was 11 years old (i will be 24 this december) and yes i was a young stoner!

i will gladly take any advice and tips you can give can give me,

i'd get a few more cfl's for veg but other than that it sounds like you have some experience with this...I love cfl's, you get the entire light of the bulb right on the plant as opposed to a standard flou, where the plant really only gets the portion of the light that it occupies underneath it (i think that made sense) I'm just finishing a 2 plant grow under 8 23w cfl's in a 1' x 2'w closet and I've used em right thru flowering (experimenting on what kinda yeild I'd get) and i've got some really nice fat punky buds to harvest here in just a couple of weeks. I just got a 70w hps for 50.00 from lowe's but I dont think I'm gonna even put it in there untill the next grow as I'm so close to harvest that it doesnt make much sense now.

i figured that 100w of cfl would be enough to keep a mother alive and veg a couple clones at a time so im not worried about that,


but other than that it sounds like you have some experience with this...

thanks! i have read more on growing then probly allot of the very advanced growers here, i love cannabis so i read as much as i can aboiut it, i have read very very very many threads here both from newbees and advanced growers, and have read there mistakes and have learned from them so i won't make the same ones, its allways better to learn from other peoples mistakes,
