after work i was expecting to make dinner for myself and a freind. i also planned to make it a little romantic, and accualy ask her to be my girl. i spent 2 hours this morning before work putting ravioli's together. i got a bottle of wine, lit some candles, and got all gussied up. she stood me up. i guess i waited to long.

Dang, that's too bad. For homemade ravioli, I'd have showed up early! Sounds like she doesn't deserve you . . . .

That's harsh.....did she have a reason? did she call? did you call? What's all gussied up? Is that like Guess clothing line? Did you at least share your humble cookings with another person? Guess it's time for you to enjoy a smoke by yourself, i for one salute you in this shitty moment maybe she had a good reason, though you never know with relationships.

For now, give her the benefit of the doubt and assume something happened. When you know the truth, it should be clear.

P.S. Homemade ravioli HOT DAMN!

sorry to hear that man, probably weren't too hungry after you realized she wasn't coming over. But just imagine how awkward it would have been if she did come, but said no to being your girl. At least you know she missed out on a bomb meal ;)

Aw man, those situations suck. I agree that you should assume something important came up until proven otherwise, or else you might end up really kicking yourself for getting mad at her for no good reason. Enjoy your ravioli.

FUCK THAT SUCKS. She sounds like a bitch.

When I was single, I realized most girls didn't like romance until they have a steady boyfriend. Then, I realized that most girls like assholes. So, I started acting like an asshole as an experiment. I attracted a lot of bitches. Then I realized that most girls are bitches. Then I realized that women being attracted to assholes has a lot to do with biology. They instinctively want a strong mate to breed with. So us nice guys have to balance being a civilized, good, kind person, with being aggressive, animalistic and tough.

There is almost never a good excuse for standing someone up. It's usually just a cowardly way of rejecting someone.

I watched a couple episodes of The Pick Up Artist on VH1. I love that show. I learned all that by trial-and-error. It was a very painful experience, but from 22 to 27 years of age, I had no women, and I was still a virgin. The host, Mystery (Mr. E?) says everything I know but much more eloquently.

I knew I could learn to pick girls up, but I had no one to teach me. I highly recommend that show to all the single lads.

During that time in my life, one of my friends made fun of me because I used to insist I needed to stay a virgin until marriage, but I admitted I masturbated. He said, "Oh, I see. So, before you take a bath, you get a nice magazine, a bottle of red wine, and light a bunch of candles all around the bathtub, and have a nice romantic bath with yourself?":D

Then, I realized that most girls like assholes.

very, very, very, true. Some guys waste there whole dating life trying to please their woman, and in the end they get treated like a door mat. Women like men, and men, by nature, are assholes.

That sucks!
That being said, however, much props to you for making homemade ravioli!!
See, now all the canncom ladies know that you have a romantic streak and can cook Italian (that in itself is romantic)... next time you get stood up, or even if your date is 10 minutes late and doesn't call, just post up what you made for dinner and I'll bet the ladies be all up ons!!!

Edit... I just realized we live in the same small state... I'll be over at eight, need anything? :D

Excellent point, my friend!

Good first dates, are coffee, lunch, ice cream something really casual during the day. Sometimes it's better just to hang out, and not make it feel like a date. Always have plans for that night, too, even if you are just going to a friend's house. That way you won't be sitting at home alone thinking, "Should I call her?" If you do, that will fuck it up, and you will look needy.

Don't waste time or money doing something special for a girl, until she proves to you she is worth it. A romantic dinner at home is better for a girlfriend you have been with for awhile. If you have the attitude of, "I like her, but she has to prove herself to me she is worth it," she will try and do it.

Also, don't ask girls to be your girlfriend. ever. Let them bring it up. Don't even tell them if you are dating other girls or not unless they ask.

Hey at least you found out before you bought her something expensive, and you got to practice your cooking skills, and as SA stated, look at all the canna girls that know you cook, or at least can.
SOOOOO many mama's baby boys in this world, cant boil water with out burning it!!
When you stick your neck out, it gets whacked once in a while. You did, but it didnt kill ya, made you smarter, better. Your on the right path IMHO!! Best to ya!!

Dont give her the benefit of the doubt. Just never call her again, if she likes you she will wonder why and call YOU. If she doesnt, good. You didnt waste anymore time.

sorry for my absence from the site. I have been super busy with work, and LOTS of drama going down. she called me the next day, and apperently had a family emergency that night. tonight i'm taking her to go see 30 days of night, i can't wait this movie looks AWSOME!

stinkyattic, where in mass do you live? i live in avon, mostly i'm in brocton though.

the secret to making raviolis is to go get wonton wrappers. they are the same thing as pasta dough, and you can cook them a number of ways. it just takes a while filling them and making sure they are tight arround the edges.

I live in the part of MA where we don't make ravioli, we make pierogi. Farm country. CT river valley. I'm HOPING to go to the UMass Hockey home opener tonight if I can convince my buddies that it's more fun than sitting in front of the TV watching sitcoms... grrrr.
I was supposed to be in Brock this weekend for a party but can't get a ride there, dammit. The O2 sensor in my car just took a dirt nap. I've got a friend in that town who I wish I got to see more of!

Don't sweat it, man. Give her the benefit. Maybe she bumped into an ex or something and believe me they can be some Army Seals when it comes to stalking. They just don't want to let go sometimes.
