I found this IKEA drawer/cabinet on craigslist for 20 bucks. I thought I could use it for growing one plant. What do you think about this set-up and will it be sufficient for only 1 Aurora Indica? I have 10 AI seeds on the way from nirvana and I'm trying to get the set-up figured out. The last picture is to show where most of the ventilation would come from. Is that enough ventilation? I know the lights aren't too great but it's just for examples and any ideas for lighting this baby up better would be greatly appreciated.

Please, any advice would be GREAT!

Thanks.

I'm not sure if there is enough room to grow one AI, but I could take the top drawer out and it adds about 8 inches of extra room.

What kind of lights are you currently using? I'm sure you could scrog one plant in there. you would probably want to use compact floros in there just to keep heat down. get a computer fan to put in the box. -The House

Thanks house,

I'm a 2 ft 25watt (i think it's 25) flor and that other light in the picture is just for additional light right now. It's some kind of reading light that i got from target a while back. Could I just mount a bulb in there? I'd need something that would keep heat down, yes, and as far as the fan goes would a computer fan work fine?

How would i set up a scrog? I'm pretty new to growing and I'll be honest by saying I have no clue how to set up a screen of green?

Thanks

Ok, get the floro as close as you can to the top of the plant and keep the other one off to side. To tell you the truth, it's probably just adding heat. I dont think that light fixture will hold the right kinda bulb. Go to home depot or some place like that and get a two way light bulb fixture. it holds two lights in one socket.
A computer fan will work just fine.... you might need two. just hook em up to a ac/dc converter. as for setting up the scrog just get some wood to make a frame that will fit inside your box and staple some plastic netting over the top of your plant. make sure your plant is about 6-8 inches tall then top it and it will grow bushy. i'd do this before putting the net over. Then bend the new growth through the holes in the net. hope this makes sense. -The house

If it was me I would just LST one plant... but hey, I'm no expert. LST is really fun and gives you something to do with your plant instead of just staring at it while chanting grow, grow grow...and requires no screen to deal with so it gives you better access. Many would also say that it is better because not topping the plants prevents you from having to wait for the plant to 'rebound' from the cut.

Do a search on LST and you'll see what I mean.

For lighting in such a small space I would just add a couple of 23 watt CFL's to the floros and get rid of the reading lamp.

Also, if this really is your first grow you need to do some serious reading on nutrients, soil and PH, or hydro of course if you are going that route. PH can be real nasty thing to control so I recommend getting an electronic tester on Ebay. I wish I would have done that from day one... would have saved a month of agony and almost killed my plants.
If you are considering a super simple hydro setup do a search for 'hempy bucket', it's the simplest way I know of. I will be using it for my next grow.

Lastly, I'm just a beginner myself, and only grow very small for my own medicinal use, so don't take my words as gospel, just keep searching and reading on this site and you'll get the idea. I'm just trying to help others that may know less than me and take the load of the experts who are probably tired of responding to us beginners rudimentary questions.
