Crowd swipes dying man's groceries (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=upiUPI-20071003-145323-9350&show_article=1)
MESA, Ariz., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- The sight of an old man being hit by a truck in Arizona touched off a feeding frenzy among witnesses who allegedly stole the dying victim's groceries.
Not only were the man's groceries taken, but the only person who tried to help him also had his own bags taken.
Mesa police told KPHO-TV in nearby Phoenix that the scavengers could face theft charges if they are eventually tracked down.
The elderly victim was waiting for a bus Tuesday night when a pickup truck swerved off the road and plowed into the stop. The man was sent flying as were his bags of groceries.
As the truck sped off with a white plastic bag flapping on its grill, witnesses began grabbing whatever scattered food they could get their hands on. Boro Mitrovich, who was himself nearly struck, said he ran to help the man and had his bag disappear as well.
"One minute it was on the ground, the next minute it was gone," Mitrovich told KPHO.

Mornin' ya'll! Yea I saw that on the news the other morning.....really sad. But karma will catch up with those people.
Stuff like this is happening more and more frequently....Remember back in ummmm....2003 I think when that chick in Tx hit the homeless guy and drove home with him stuck in her windshield and let him die in her garage? We are bringing about our own destruction piece by piece....

pfff. Obviously they were hungry, and the poor fella on the ground wouldn't be needing them anymore.
What's the prob? Were the groceries crucial evidence or something?

But dang....they could have tried to help him before they stole his groceries....at least waited until the ambulance took him away...he had to lay there dying, watching people steal his shit....

Hadn't the ambulance been called already? I'm assuming it had been. Otherwise yeah it's terrible.

Even if it had been....wouldn't sheer human decency call to at the least, provide some measure of comfort to a dying man, rather than make off with his last purchases? Or to show a smidge of respect and not act as pitiful scavengers? What makes us better than the animals if we conduct ourselves like that?

Thats pretty fucking backwards, no one offered him any help? I dunno even if i was in a situation where I was poor and desperate I still dunno if I'd be able to enjoy food I had taken from a dying old man, unless I had made a significant effort to help him first.

Thanks for, maybe, thinking that I should "be wiped out".
People like that should probably be shot.

You have the guy, from London, who'd be happy to piss on him. He'd love it, if the grocery-stealer was on his deathbed, too!

makes ya wonder though, is it a bigger crime that they took the groceries or that there are people in this country that are so hungry that they would steal in a moment like that. of course it all depends on the people's motivation, maybe or society really is collapsing, if only there was something, like a plant, that could help people work together, peaceably ;)

Seems more like an isolated incident to me rather than a hint at the complete downfall of society...
Remember, anything bad like this will ALWAYS be in the news before anything heartwarming. That's the liberal media for you.
I'd still like to think there's still hope for society. You can't judge a group based on a few bad worms is all I'm saying.

Thats a very deep question... in fact, i think its the root of all the problem. Any good answer for it?
