Check / calibrate your new meter -n- pray it's wrong . Or you need to buy a Reverse Osmosis System .
Bummer

Didn't it come w/ any instructions ?
Most need 4.0 - 7.0 calibration soloution . Most are adj. using a lil tiny eyeglass screwdriver . What kind is it ? Got a pic. ?

Wouldn't you rather know the meter you just paid big bux for is right ?

Whats gonna hap if yu dont ? - All depends on what is actually in that 760ppm water - all calcium ? mg. ? chlorine ? flouride ? God knows bro.

Are you in the city or counrty , City water , Well water ?
I got a 8 oz. bottle of each 4.0 - 7.0 for like 12.00 online .

If your in the city - Usually once a yr in your junk mail - by law they have to give you a breakdown of everything your water contains on average . Total ppm and percentages of each element / compund in the sample . Call your Dept. of public works , or city hall= it should be on public record .

It kind of depends on the size of your garden too. If it's a small garden, you can use bottled water. The kind that you get from a machine or water store for around a quarter a gallon. You can also look on ICmag.

This is a thread for a cheap DIY Ro filter setup for small scale growers...

Crispi, can I have some of what you're smoking? :D

The referenced calibration solutions are for a pH meterr. You want the correct calibration solution for your meter, which will be something like xxxx ppm. (My meter uses 1382 ppm calibration solution.)

but where can i get NaCl...??

LOL - NaCl is common salt. I suppose you could make a saturated solution in distilled water and you would know about what the ppm should be, but calibration solution is soooo much easier.
