Me and my friends plan on going to my next city council's meeting to bring up the idea of making a skate park in our town. In case they shoot us down we have equipped, the two grown ups who were sole responsible for getting the nice ass skate park in the next town over which also happens to be an army base. It will be a process but were commiting until were contently shredding our own park without having to go to other towns.
Another time there was an unfortunate accident where the star football QP in the HS football team accidently hit a student at a bus stop killing her on his way to school. In a news article on the local news website all they did was talk about the QP and his football record, and future in football and discarded the girls death. That pissed me and my friends off and our parents so we shot them some hate mail stating are anger and they changed the article! (He got off cause she was mentally ill and was standing in the rode), so he finished the school year and football season. Regardless we still achieved something.
Have you ever made a change in anything?

Me too. I don't even use a bong.
I complained about the brick paving in my town centre for 5 months, and then went into the council offices and TOLD them what i wanted - and 3 days later they were replacing the bricks.
Loads of people had complained, and 2 people had been hurt from tripping over them but they did nothing untill i lost my temper. But it did the trick.
That's it.

in a town i lived in they were goin to tear out a nice patch of forest to build houses on. i went to a council meeting and brung up th fact that there was a lot o property in the town unused. a week later the devolpment was denied zoning. i like to think maybe i had a hand in changing there minds about it.
the town had like 3 shopping centers empty , loads of unused parking lots, and empty buildings.
fight urban sprawl

Regarding the skatepark.
The best thing you can do is get a list of names of everyone who would use it if it was built, the more the merrier. And remind the council how useful it will be at "keeping the kids off the streets".
If you do get it, it is important that you invlove yourselves and other who would use it in the planning and layout of the ramps. Our town got one about 5 years ago and while it was much appreciated the layout wasnt exactly the best.
Good luck.

Yeah, and also tell them it will be a place where the police can keep an eye on the skater kids. :(
There's a new skatepark on my block, and now there are twice as many police patrols.

sounds like your cops have nothing to do. that shit piss's me off. if anything the cops should be happy there not "tearing" up buisnesses and leave them the fuck alone.

I've participated in countless numbers of walk for the cures and similar events...That's all I have gave back to Society, however I do several each year. I'm not sure if I have made a real difference yet. :wtf:
