Hi All,

been lurking for around a month, absorbing and spending far too many billable hours on this forum. Thanks to everyone for this wealth of knowledge, i have so many subscribed threads its insane.

So i built my cab (growing area) 28.5"W 20"D 52.5"H (a home depot special) and i'm running some proactive tuning tests and lightproofing.

I'm running a 400W MH conv. bulb w/ a cooltube which is far too hot. high 80s - low 90's on 24/0 after a day or two.

my question is this:
i got an inductor fan 250CFM. should i leave one side of the light non ducted so it pulls some of the ambient air in? or should i pipe in outside air and out the cooltube and get some additional fans for the ambient air. i have 2 2" passive intakes on the bottom left and right.

not too much space to work w/ on the left

or the right

2" passive intake 1 of 2. w/ light leak

cab - i know i should take the ballast out. right?

paint the inside of your passive intake holes flat black and add 1 more 90 or 45 to it, and prob want atleast 2 more passive intakes

you are goin to need more than an inductor/booster fan, should get a good quality inline fan or a squirl cage fan. and to hook it up i would cut a hole in side of cab(no room to get flex tubing in there) and run the fan outside the box and on the other side of the cooltube i would leave open. put a carbon filter on fan and you should be set

excellent. thanks for the insight.

was eying the vortex, i guess i just needed to hear it.

is 2" sufficient for the other intakes, or should i go larger?
or
instead of 2 more passive should i just use my inductor to intake?

thanks,

either go with 2 more 2" intakes
but since you have the inductor i would use that

I would make the intake and exhuast 4", and pull air out one side of your light to exhaust your closet. Definately take the ballast out if at all possible.

Oh I'm sure you will type it again. Maybe you should get an additional clipboard program so you can just leave it there, ready to paste at a moments notice.

I think noobs tend to look at that guide and say Holy Crap, That's so long and has so many big words, and I just don't want to put forth the effort required to understand that whole thing when my question is probably just 1 tiny part of it somewhere.

I don't want to learn, I just want my immeadiate question answered so I can get on with my next rickety-ass section of my grow.

Please people I am not pointing the finger anywhere. By the way rhizome, awsome guide.
