anyway to tell if a plant is male or female before it buds???

2 weeks ago i took a seed from one of my bags and planted not thinking it would grow. I have watered it everyday and its in the sun all day (i live in texas). I just want to know if im wasting my time or not before it buds...

i just posted a pic of a female preflower in the picture section thread called IS THIS A FEMALE PREFLOWER

that should help tell if its female, but no pics of male

hope this helps, and itll take around 1.5 months to show

It's really going to depend on a number of variables: i.e. the strain of seed, how good the growing medium is, ph of the soil, temperature conditions, lighting etc.

My current grow showed sex at 17 days (2.5 weeks!), so it's not always easy to predict, however if you take a look at some of the pictures posted on the site you'll see it's relatively easy to tell which is which (well before you need to worry about cross pollination anyhow).

17 days ??? ... I hope you mean the 17th day of the 12/12 flowering period ? ... :smokin:
