Tips on buying a vaporizer

I've never used nor do i know how to use a vaporizer.
I wanted to try it out and was wondering if I can get a few tips on buying a vape.
I don't want anything too expensive like the volcano costing over $500.
I want something that I can use from time to time without breaking.
i dont mind if its from ebay...

Two good places to check: GotVape.com and VaporWarehouse.com.
I got my handsfree vapor bros. from vaporwarehouse and I recommend it.

The vapor king (from gotvape) looks like a very good model with the same design and my vapor bros, and $40 less. You can find one on ebay for ~$110 (w/ free ship and free grinder) from the same GotVape store where it retails for $150.
In my opinion, any handsfree box-and-whip style is your best bang for buck. Mine is already two years old and to me, it's my best buy.

If you have a bong (like I do), you can also buy an adapter that attachs your whip to your bong for a vaporbong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Vaporong_001.jpg). This is one benefit over the volcano. Another is some units have an advertised 30 second warm up time. You also use less herb than traditional methods.

Another bonus is the "duff" or leftovers of herb which you can use to cook, make hash oil, or smoke/re-vape a second time (although not preferred).

have a vapor-tech, it's a bit of a hassle to set up. plug it in wait for it to warm up, fill the glass tube, stick it in wait for pot to heat up, then take a hit. it was probably just me, but when i took that first hit, i thought i was going to cough up my lungs. i bought it from the vapor-tech co. i think it was around 150.00.

My local headshop lets you rent out a Volcano - provided you can afford the $500 cash deposit on top of the $35 per night it costs to rent. I was a little surprised that they'd even do that, but apparently they haven't had any problems with the cops.

thats pretty cool, i can see the deposit, but that daily rental fee is a rip off.
