USN, 89-93. Spent the first gulf war hunting imaginary iraqi subs, and when I got home we had a parade. And we deserved it, not one imaginary sub sank a single ship. But seriously I'm glad I enlisted. Got to travel the world, met interesting people, and managened not to kill any of them.

i hate to break it to you, but recently declassified documents show that thirteen imaginary u.s. ships were sunk by imaginary iraqi subs off the coast of slovakia during that time period. though there were no fatalities, several institutionalized schizophrenics set fire to their mattresses in response to the total uselessness of this information.

Does a paramilitary organization like a fire department count? Probably not. But I spent 8 years working for one nonetheless (as a medic).

Oh shit, I almost missed the joke. Almost:D Good one:thumbsup:

Just to let anyone know that cares...I needed the military in my life when I joined...all I wanted was adventure, and that is what it gave me..I was doing a lot of shit that I really shouldnt have been doing.I wanted to be infantry in both the army and the corps..thats what I got, just straight up grump, humping the hills, months in the field...crazy training..I have been to Air assault school, French Commando School, NTA, CTA, Marine Combat Training, School of Infantry for both services...In Korea, Thailand, Japan, Okinawa, Phillipines, Hong Kong, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Guam, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Hawaii, Somalia all on the governments bill...I pretty much partied in everyone of those countries...smoked much weed anad hash and other stuff, met the people from there...thats all, actually there is more..but, I never shot a shot at an enemy...and I have never been directly shot at...so I think I am chilled and I am glad that I had such a unique experience...I got to go to 2 bootcamps..how awesome is that? Shit I was even the Company Honor Graduate in Marine Corps Bootcamp at Parris Island and I am the biggest stoner of all..I got lots of awards...but i still hade my moments, cause I love to fight..even start fights just so I could fight and that cost me rank on more than one occasion...
But I am a punk rocker at heart..they cant brainwash me, I seen their tactics, I enjoyed them..that is what made it such a great experience..would I have killed if I went to war? You bet your ass I would, cause that was my job....and I am really stoned...I only like Peace now...cause I think war is not necesssary...Isnt this the 21st century, we can do better than this.
