Just been down to petrol station to fill up and another tax rise by the good old English government has now pushed the price up to 98p per litre so that makes it the equivilent of $10.00 a gallon of which $7.50c is pure taxation, you wouldn't think I lived in an oil producing country would you ? :(

Shutcha trap. I don't know the equivalent of what 10 quid is to dollars but we're paying nearly 3 dollars a gallon over here in Amurricah, pal, so quit your emo rant and quit your bitching.

Kidding.

$10.00 or $3.00 not much difference really we are paying 2 1/2 times your per gallon cost in taxation alone. More than 3 times your actual cost what we need is another Guy Fawkes.

We live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so busses are not an option, cars for us are a neccessity, not a luxury we could do without, so I guess we are stuck with whatever taxation the government levies on us.

$10.00 a gallon would break people's back here. Can't the majority petition for a tax rollback, there?

I understand the high tax is to "force" conservation.

I wish it was, however I also pay a fair chunk of my wages as national insurance to cover the NHS this is over and above income tax, god knows what petrol tax is used for it certaily is not used for maintaining the roads and transport system.
