Hello fellow Hempfesters!

This thread is about our 10th Annual Hempfest., August 21,22,23,24 - 2008.

Hempfest is located on private property in the scenic Northern Ontario forest just East of Sault Ste. Marie.

Hempfest is attended by people from all over North America. We come together with folks from across the continent and celebrate the plant that has been the subject of such controversy over the last 80 years.

Hempfest is a Community in itself. There is a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds represented at Hempfest.

Cannabis olympics, junkyard bong contests, big bud contests, live bands, guest speakers, comedy shows, food vendors as well as great selection of seed and bong vendors....even bubble hash and vaporizor demos. We also have some great DJ's spinning their stuff down by the river on the second stage.

Many people who attend hempfest plan for the event months in advance. So, I'm getting the jump on things by getting the word out early so that everyone who wants to attend can be well prepared.

My Friends and I Are Leaving In 4 Days to get there.It's Going to Be a 14 Hour Drive but we've got an 1/8th of Afghani Kush for (which I've never tried) for the ride!plus 2 ounces of 2 other tasty strains.I Actually won my tickets...2 Full 4 day passes ($100 value at the gate) and an 1/8th of premium buds to take to the fest.Lots of you probably know which site I won it from and there may be someone else in this forum who also won one of the 5 sets of tickets given away.We Are Hoping To Arrive Very early on the first day of the festival...Probably about 6 in the morning as we are leaving at noon the day before.We Hope There is No O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) RIDE Check....
If there is...We just hope that in arriving early we may beat the set up of the barricade.

Has anyone heard anything about the police being there this year?Last Year was the first year of 9 hempfests that the police had a RIDE program stationed on the highway outside the gates.Maybe they won't Do it again...or they might make a tradition of it.

I Hope To See You Guys There...Klondike if you end up going and you s ee to ppl at the P.I.G Party with Green Shirts with marijuana leaves and the word cannabis,Green face paint,Green Pants and acting crazy...Come up to the one in the Green Ecko Hat and say "Ontario Toker?" It will be me!
I cant wait to start the festivities...and Remember Don't start the party early on the drive there!if the cops smell weed they have a reason to search your car!If you don't give them a reason to search you and do not consent to a search they cannot search you!!!and anybody from the States may be hassled a little bit more and asked stupid questions like "How did you get into the country?" "Do you or your passengers have criminal records?"
They will probably ask if you are going to hempfest and if you came to
Canada for the sole purpose of attending the event.It's best not to lie.
But Remember,The Police can only question the Driver of the vehicle,they don't need to know where you are going and cannot question your passengers unless you are being detained.So if you find the police may be trying to give you a hard time and begins to ask questions about your passengers simply say "My passengers are exercising their right not to answer your questions as I am the driver,Now sir are we being Detained or are we free to go?"

They should let you go...don't be a prick or a smart ass about it though...
