You serious have to see this to believe it. I couldn't believe it while I was watching it. If this is what happens in our government, we're well and truly f*cked!

i'm kind of surprised you didn't know this kind of crap was going on. your lawmakers spend more time worrying about where to go on their next vacation (and who they can get to pay for it) than governing. the most shocking part of that video was not that legislators were casting multiple votes, but that most of the seats were empty. the average mcdonalds employee has more of a sense of duty than these professional thieves. your government is awol.

maybe this could be why the Hinchey-Rohrabacher has always managed to fail, despite the public's wishes..

As fucked up as this is can you imagine what goes on in the electoral college to elect our presidents?
What a wonderful democracy we have.

You'd think that, but I remember watching an HBO special about marijuana and watching Congress vote against it. They're not there when we need them to help us, but they're sure there to screw us over. :(

Don't even get me started on how fucked up the Electoral College is. I can understand the reasoning to prevent mob rule, but there needs to be some sort of change to reflect the will of the popular vote. Their not even required to vote as the people want them to. I am sad to say that I grew up being proud to be American and thinking our government was the greatest. I guess I've learned my lesson over the years.

I think the more you educate yourself on how our government works I think you become more dissallussioned. Its not that its a bad system its just that we need more people to register to vote and try to help make the system fair for everyone. I don't know how we can fix not having viable candidates anymore. Decent people don't run for office anymore.

As much as I'd like to think things would improve with the more people that vote I don't think it'd change anything. Our government has gotten to the point that the will of the people is no longer reflected by the laws made. It's a government for the aristocracy, for the lobbists and corporations. Hell, look at the 2000 election when Bush was made President by the SCOTUS even though the popular vote went to Gore. I live in TX, as you can tell and predominantly vote Democrat, so of course when it comes down to stuff like the Presidential election, my vote means jack shit. Like someone said before, our legislators are more concerned about where their going to take their next vacation or how their going to get re-elected than concerned with voting in the best interest of their constiuents. All of the problems with our government become more and more evident makes me wonder how much longer can we really survive as a country? What am I going to be able to tell my children about our government?
