I just joined this forum hoping to find out more about growing! I've read the FAQ's and many posts which were very informative. About 4 weeks ago i threw about 10 bagseeds into a cup and put some water in it and wabaM! my first pot plant had started. I dont exactly have any money but i used some soil i got from walmart and a 120watt spot-gro sylvania bulb. It seems that its growing pretty well except that when i transplanted it the bottom 2 leaves turned a little brown and one fell off. Ever since it has still been growing (green leaves at that). Right now i have it going on a 18/6 light cycle and im not sure how long to wait until i should go to the 12/12 light cycle. Any suggestions or help to a poor grower would be great!

The plant is currently about 10" -12". Also should i gradually change the 18/6 light method to 12/12 by 17/7 , 16/8 , etc... or just jump straight to the 12/12 lighting

I just found out that the bulb i was using was incadescent or w/e im not suppose to use. So im wondering if these "CFL Daylight Light Bulb: 26 Watt (100W Equiv) " bulbs would be better? They are rather cheap at walmart i believe, or would this be a wast of 20$ ?
