So I'm making my own carbon filter fan and I realized that I don't know how to wire the electricity to the fan.

So I'm buying a quiet fan rated at 12V 340mA @ 86.5 cfm.

Now I've found 12V transformers, problem is there is no 340mA rating, only 300 and the next highest is 400.

If I bought the 400mA would that just mean the maximum is 400mA? So basically, can I use that 400mA transformer for this fan?

To tell you the truth, that fan won't do anything if your passing it through a carbon filter. You are better off forking out the $30 for a cheap, inline, A/C, 6" fan.
