No need for dissection as see-through frogs jump in - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070927/od_afp/sciencejapanbiologyanimal_070927185409)

That makes me wonder about how a human would look!

yea it's definitely interesting

speaking of cool pets, how trippy would it be to own a clear skin cat or dog ?!
I wouldn't tell my friends and let them come over and find out themselves...

I bet at least one would run away screaming! :stoned:

Mwahahaha

I was also thinking of Skinny.
My cat's name is Skinny because he's really skinny. So skinny...he doesn't even have any skin!

Do you think they could make non-transparent jellyfish? Like put leopard print, or tiger stripes on their ectoplasmic membrane?

That'd be a hell of a lot easier to spot in the ocean to avoid getting stung... Stupid clear jellyfish...

That is a really cool article. However, they said that it is impossible for that to happen in the wild so they haven't really evolved like that, and probably never will, so they don't do it for predators.

They just took a recessive, pale skin gene and multiplied it many times to make sure that that gene would be the abundant one when it came time to deciding skin color; in this case, it decided to be transparent.

I think that's exciting as hell, "Sumida said researchers could also inject into the transparent frogs an illuminating protein attached to a gene, which would light up the gene once it manifests -- for example, showing at what stage cancer starts." Can you believe that??

I mean, it can't be done on mammals, right now, because our skin is different, it said, but imagine in a few hundred years, if we're even still on this planet (ie, we're all gonna die in 2012)

PS: I am extremely ripped, first high of the day. If any of what I said was bullcrap...well...damn...I got nothin

How long before those little dudes get patented?

The future of genetic engineering is pretty damn terrifying if you think about it.
