Hi all, this is my first post here but I hope to stick around this place for awhile.

So anyhow, here's my situation. Been a daily user for years, maybe one or two bowls a day, usually just during the evening. I recently applied for a new job, and ceased smoking as I thought I'd be drug screened. I ceased for exactly 20 days, then caved because I thought they weren't going to test me (what was I thinking..) I smoked for about 5 or 6 more days, and stopped again yesterday. It looks like I won't be screened until early November, which is 40 more days. The problem is, I'm a bit overweight (5'9, 190 lbs.) Given that I already ceased for awhile before, do you think that 40 day period will be enough given my weight and all that?

Basically, here's my plan for now. I am going to completely abstain until then, and pick up a bottle of QuickFix in case of emergencies. A few days before the test, I am going to test myself with a home kit. If I come up negative, I think I'm just going do it legit. If I'm still not clean, I'll probably use the QuickFix.

I've done a lot of reading on this forum, and have seen nothing but positive testimonials on QuickFix but I still have my reservations. I guess the whole "synthetic" thing worries me. I read on a site somewhere that any experienced lab technician should be able to tell the difference between authentic urine and synthetic, but they were also trying to sell powder urine, so they're probably just biased, but I dunno it seems like a good point. Does this stuff even smell like real piss?

Well, that's my story. Any input would be appreciated.

You're doing the right thing.Pick up some cheap thc test strips off fleabay.I pay about $1.25 each for mine.
I'm 6'2'' 280 lbs and if I'm smoking daily for a couple months it takes me about 3 weeks to get clean with no exercise. But everybody is different.
I'd do exactly as you're going to do.Pick up some quickfix and test strips isf a couple days before the test you're not testing clean go with quickfix. Be sure and practice with the quickfix. You can heat it up numerous times.

Why go clean? Just use quickfix and don't worry about it. Once you get in there, you'll realize how easy it is to sub. Man, you could be stoned while at the the clinic if you wanted. Subbing with quickfix takes all the worry out of it.

I guess I'm just worried that the QuickFix will fail me. I'm not worried about getting caught by not doing it properly, but that I'd get the lab technician who was able to tell it was synthetic. I'm not really sure how closely they analyze the urine to tell if it's real or not.

I mean even if the human eye couldn't detect it synthetic, there would have to be chemical tests for sure to tell.

So I guess I just want to use it as a last resort if I have to.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. Not only can they not tell by sight, smell and sight are obviously subjective and must be confirmed with the validity testing, pH, specific gravity, and creatinine clearance unless you hand them a cup of black urine or smells of gasoline.

Now I really don't know what's going on for sure. The job is in a new state, and I move there next month and still haven't heard any instructions on the drug screen. Is it normal protocol for most places for the drug screen not be done until the job is started along with the rest of the first day paperwork? Do they sometimes do it even after the job has started?

Either way, I certainly can't ask about it of course, but I don't want to cave anyway.

Damn! 22 days and still testing dirty on the home strips. I'm worried now, and thinking maybe I should just go with the quick fix afterall, but I don't know for sure because I still have a few weeks. Once again, I don't know for sure if I'll be tested because I find it weird that I wouldn't test until the first day of work but of course I am assuming I will.

So question, this is NOT a DOT related job so would one bottle be enough? Because they don't need to follow DOT guidelines and they could make me piss more than for a DOT test?

Getting nervous here, input would be greatly appreciated!

Is it a driving job?
cause if it is, I am sure they will give you a test, but it is odd that they would allow you to move and start at the new job without testing you before hand.

No, it's a "professional" white collar job. Absolutely not safety sensitive, no driving/physical labor involved.

Technically it's not a new job, my company was bought out and I am moving down to work for the "parent" company. Thoughts?

I just passed after a diluted 33 day quit and passed. Whew, after the H..l I put myself through worrying. I was still testing positive with 1st morning urine but had to take the test. I've smoked daily for about 7 years and not very large person. I wouldn't smoke anymore if I were you and if you want to go a la natural. OR....Quick Fix 4.0 seems to be a less worrisome way as per censes. Good luck. You should be fine.

Yeah, even though it said on the offer letter it's contingent on pre-employment drug screen? It also said it's contingent upon successful reference checks and I know one of my references and he has not heard a word. So maybe none of that applies. Like I said, it would just be odd that they wouldn't have me take the test before I moved to a new state and started the first day of work.

Either way, I ordered some Quick Fix 4.0 so I should be fine I hope!

Hey there..i feel for ya! I just got a new job as well and at first they NEVER said anything. Even after I accepted the verbal offer and had my written offer in my email. Wish I would have signed it and faxed it back right away. I didn't. They called me a week after accepting and said they needed to revise my letter due to a new policy of backgrounds/drug screening. Make a long story short, they called me just yesterday and said they were waiving the pre-employment testing but that they were implementing randoms. I have never had to submit for randoms. I am talking about an Administrative position. I think this is such bullshit. Why does anyone care what I do after 6 pm? Do I care if my boss goes home every night and drinks a pint or a case of beer? It's NOT my business. I hate this whole discrimation. UGH. Best of luck to you...keep some Quick Fix on you at all times. That's what i am gonna do. :rastasmoke:

One more thing I wanted to say...I wouldn't be moving anywhere until I knew the results. That's a huge step to take.

Gamadius you're doing the right thing.Keep home testing yourself and if you get down to the wire and still unsure if you're clean go with the quickfix. Jus be sure and practice with the quickfix first.
As far as job references. I think most companies are pretty lazy about checking references. It sounds like you have already been working for the company it was just sold was all, so they probably won't even bother checking prior references.
