1st grow a few questions n concerns

ok so this summer i finally got everythin together n grew some plants and the 3 that survived are gettin fatter everyday i got seeds from a very experianced grower duno the strains or anything my friend told me i should leave them till i wake up n the branches are snapped off but its allmost october first im wondering how much longer i can wait before the cold here starts hurting them at night i live in ontario also allot of my leafs have been turning yellow and burnt he sugested this was because of too much fertalizer i used miracle grow 15-30-15 until they started flowering n then started to give them bonemeal instead i started them late and im wondering how much longer i can wait until harvest and how i can fix the yellow burning leaves or if it even makes a difference at this point any help/advice would b much apreciated thanks every1 heres a few pics the short 1 has purple on the crowns and the tall skinny 1 had pink hairs a few days ago that have turned brown ive smoked testers n it seems 2 get u good n high so iuno like i said any feedback/help/advice would b apreciated

look in the FAQs section on "when to harvest" it'll give you info on how to check the trichomes, which is the best way to figure out when your plant is most ready.

They look very close. I'd say give them about 10 or 12 more days, though it is hard to tell without a close-up view of the buds. As for the yellowing leaves... Thats a good thing. Thats the leaves using up all the nitrogen. Once they run out of nitrogen the chlorophyll starts breaking down (chlorosis). This is good because chlorophyll makes the buds harsh and will make it take longer to cure and lose its grassy "green" taste. I would stop feeding it everything in a couple days and just give it plenty of water.

They definately have alittle bit long to go but not much. Maybe a week... Its good that you wait. Alot of people would start cutting buds off and microwaving them and shit, which, is terrible and a waste IMO. Its good you have a friend to teach you. Those pictures were too blurry to make anything out... but i was just trying to see how many hairs had died. The color of the hairs is not a very good way to judge ripeness but it is better than nothing.. so try to harvest when the hairs are about 75% dried and orange.

And also make sure you cure it well. Curing it allows time for 1) the chlorophyll and other (possible carcingenic) compounds to breakdown, giving the weed a smoother taste. ANd 2) it allows inactive THC to mature and ripen into Active THC.. So curing it will actually make it alot more potent and tasty. Jst give it a month after harvest nto smoke it. By the way great job for your first grow. There are people on this site that have been growing for years and can't get a grow like that. You are definately a natural:thumbsup:. Keep up the good work.

well my friend is the son of a comercial grower hes been givin me pointers along the way i had some pest problems little green flyin things i thaught were aphides n i killed them with a bottle of really old strawberry shnaps in those trap things that bugs fly into get wasted and drown lol also the seeds were strains from my friends dad n hes been breedin plants for atleast 30 years n i got a bunch of his best strain for next season he wont even move this strain its his n his only im so happy n excited lol thanks for the props n positive feedback and advice 1 thing i kno buddies dad doesnt do very well is curing his stuff his nug often has that grassy taste to it atleast the stuff he moves lol i had dozens of seeds sprouted but i only had room to keep 7 plants 2 went male n 2 were small n i chopped em n made oil with em this has been an awsome experiance the whole way watchin these come up i encourage any1 who is thinkin bout tryin it to give it a shot n see what u can do and as i said b4 ive invested nothin in this just some seeds given to me and a tarp covered in top soil n some peat moss i had in my yard threw it in some pots n here i am i started them so late in like april next year im definatly goin for an early early start like febuary-march get em goin good inside and put them out after spring will they b done early if i do this or will they just take advantage of a longer season and get bigger? lol needles 2 say im very excited at my newfound tallent lol thanks 4 all the advice early dank ill keep hangin in there awhile longer:P lol

some1 chopped down 1 of my plants last night and it wasnt me strangely they took the smallest plant and left the 2 bigger ones they moved it outside my fence and cut it down it was either my neigtbour or one of my good friends this pisses me off so much:(

it was definatly some tasty bombass weed once it was cured havent been on here in a damn long time i couldnt remember my password lol every1 who saw it was impressed i dont wana say where im from on here lol where are u from n ill tell u if u know them or not lol thanks 4 all ur input n the nug definatly tasted fruity n potent as only the finest herbs do i couldnt belive how well it turned out lol like a dream come true this year i wana try breeding a couple 2 start supplyin my own seeds

hey man nice grow, did you start those seeds outside or inside and if outside what date did you plant them because i live in canada as well and it doesnt seem to be the best climate for growing

i started them late i dont remember the exact time i started them but my buddy told me i was atleast 2 months late starting them n i think it was like april sometime ur suposed to start seeds mad early i duno i am by no means an expert i just love smoken em lol

Did you start the seeds indoors or outdoors?
I think that's one of the things michaelpeg is wondering. Because you can start indoors at any time under 24/0 light, but outdoors in your area there's an earliest date you can set outside.

well i had about 10 plants i started 1 inside in january but it died n i started a couple more after that inside n i think they made it but the rest i left in paper towels on my back deck as i recall till they cracked n sprouted i got the same strains this year n im startin them all inside now in hopes of growin monster sized plants see how she goes im not one for specifics lol i spent allot of time just sittin around them smokin cigs n killin the bugs round them n shit for awhile i had a billion wasps cause of all the aphids comin 4 those n the tomatoe plants i had n i didnt kno this at the time but ants and wasps are known to use female aphides as cows they take them from plant to plant and feed them so i poured some mad old strawberry schnaps from like 1960 in those glass fly trap things that are made of glass n hang off poles n all the wasps went into the traps got wasted as shit n died lol i duno if the aphides went in there too or if they all just died neway im rambeling n not really makin ne kind of a point about nothin so im guna stop now lol peace everybody

funny i also live in ontario and had 3 plants very similar to those and were called AK 47, so maby your strain is ak.. who knows.. and also 2 of them were stolen, and the shitty looking 1 was left. only thing i know is this summer im sleaping in a tent loaded with my 2 fists and all the rage and anger from my last grow.. i even know the guy who stole my plants now, and word be he riped about (4 - 6 cant remember lol) / 6 foot tall plants right out of this trailer park looking place close to the southern part of ontario near the school that has mold.. (this cant be a description of location can it lol)

and buddy if you read this reply and answer how it feals knowing that evryone elce knows you did this ? how does it feal to loose that much rep in the small ass town we live in retard ? how does it feal to loose some of your best friends like that ? personally i have a new oz almost evry week so for someone to be as dumb as to go steal 2 puny plants (you couldnt even get the 3'rd 1) i can get all the exotics, indicas, outdoor, hydro and even more like GOOD hash all day long.. trust me you would have been better off smokeing that than fertalizer you knob lol..

im so sick of people like this.. theres not even a word to fit these peoples description, and to show there is nice people out there like myself.. me and 2 of my good friends stumbled onto this other plant sight which had about 15 plants almost ready to be harvested and all we left with was a fue clippings each, not the whole fucking plant itself :s

to all the assholes out there who think it's fine to stroll through peoples shit and take it watch out because yours is going to come 5 times as hard, you watch and see when all this bullshit is going to come back and strike you in the mellon
