stock up on healthier, but tastey, munchies like fruit and stuff. Also, you could try eating a big bowl of oatmeal before you smoke. Lots of cardio. Etc, etc.

I have found Like unknown says buy healthier stuff. You will still munch but it will be on better stuff. Since I have been dieting I wont even buy the junk anymore more because as long as its not there I wont eat it. Most of the time though I try to find something else to occupy my mind usually the munchies will go away .

I'd say cut down on meals. I'm 6'6 210-15.5 and I lost 50lbs over the summer. I'd just say eat small meals if you can and cut out red meat and pork as hard as that may sound. It worked for me and a lady friend and I know meat stays in your stomach for three months so their might be something to that diet. If you want to look trim then work out but the only way to loose weight is to cut down on food, working out will have you gaining muscle.God luck mate and at the end of the day different strokes for different folks:thumbsup:

sorry for the double post, so are you saying all you really have to do is cut down your eating and it will drop overtime?

Actually, if you put on more muscle, you will lose weight faster, as muscle burns far more calories even at rest. You should eat less breads and sweets, but keep your meat. Cut down on cheese, but don't eliminate it, eat more rice and oatmeal for your complex carbs, eat fish and chicken primarily for meat, as they have less fat than beef or pork. Steak is excellent if you can make a good one. Work out as much as you can, and if possible, balance your cardio with weight training so you are burning lots of calories, but you are also building muscle, and that muscle burns even more calories even while you sleep. If you stick to it, in about a month or month and a half, you'll have lost quite a bit of weight, and probably even get significantly buffer. ;)

Replace the foods you eat now with healthier foods. Doing small things like if you are ordering a burger, don't have it with fries and coke, instead with a banana and water.
Doing things like taking the stairs, instead of the elevator. Make your life more manual.
Don't think of it as losing weight. Think of it as a weight maintenance. Once you lose the pounds, it doesn't end there. You have to maintain it.
A combination of cardio and weight training will do wonders as well. But you gotta find exercise you enjoy. Otherwise you won't stick to it.

Well do you enjoy any sports?
To do cardio, you don't necessarily have to jog or run. Playing sports actually can do wonders, having fun without thinking it's exercise. Soccer is really good at losing body fat, since it requires quick starts and stops in movement, cutting, sprinting etc. Same with basketball, but you don't run to the extent as soccer.
As for strength training, I don't know the extent, but I suggest you go to this site:

This one is a workout program that require no weights. Just C&P the exercise name on google, and find a video or animated picture that shows the movement. Form is important so check yourself if you are doing it right!

At first, you should start with the basics, and as your body strength increases start doing the excercises with simple weights. Do pushups, everyday, as many as you can. If possible, do the "diamond" pushups (the one where you place your hands very close together, and your fingers sort of form a diamond.) Then do lots of situps. A situp with a little more cardio kick to it would be the one where as you are coming up, you raise your knee and bend forward even more, and touch your elbow to the opposite knee. Done quickly, you'll work up a sweat in probably less than a minute, and these work wonderfully. Great with a 20 pound weight in your hands, too, that's a really good workout. You'll also want to jog more than you usually do, and if possible, do it in sand. If you can't run in sand, rockclimbing is a fun hobby to take up. Chin-ups are also a good strength workout. It may be boring, so listen to some music while you work out, and stick with it! You don't need fancy equipment to lose weight and have a star-like body. If you have stairs nearby, run up and down those for cardio and leg muscle toning. you can even be creative and make up your own exercise!

Stay away from fast food, junk food, nothing fried, heavy on veggies and fruits. lots of fish and poultry.....and above all....excersise!!!!! You gotta burn more calories than you take in. If you use tobacco, STOP IT.
You can make some really great meals that has no fat, almost no cholesterol, and will keep your triglycerides in check.
This is a change of lifestyle that will keep you healthy for many years to come. I had to learn the hard way.... It took a heart attack and quadruple coronary bypass(open heart surgery) at 48 years old to get my attention.

BRO! I have posted on this thread already but do this!!! KK lately i have been slacking from the gym! so i made a rule, NO...:stoned:TILL....I workout! so if i smoke a lot... i work out a lot! get it? its all mind over matter, you have came far enough to ask complete strangers for assistance, so i'm sure you have enough moral fiber to resist cheating! I would start just running, for like a week, then start to lightly lift. then start getting more and more involved. I dont know about you but i cut out all SODA, and FAST FOOD from my diet, and dropped 20 lbs. QUICK!
:bigsmoke: -LIFT FIRST....then GET LIFTED
P.s. the post-workout bowl is SOOOO nice! its magical!

Yeah homie thats fine, just make sure the chicken is grilled no deep fried, and the shit you put on the salad keeps it healthy!
I have been amateur bodybuilding for about 5 years and have read many books on diet and nutrition. I encourage you study and read as much as you can knowledge is power. As someone has already said bodybuilding.com is an excellent resources.
Here are a few pointers to get you started.
Eat at home! Do not go near fast food.
Do not drink alcohol. Alcohol is completely counterproductive to losing weight. One good night of drinking can change hormone levels for up to a month!
If you have a Trader Joeâ??s near you, shop there! Trader Joeâ??s carriers the most inexpensive high quality foods around, bar none.
Meal plan. Every meal you eat should contain some protein, complex carbohydrates and mono and ploy unsaturated fats.
Eat six to seven small meals a day.
Eat all the green leafy vegetables you can and lots of fruits.
A couple times a month you could treat yourself to something deliciously unhealthy (I usually get high as shit and eat a ton of Chinese food).
When I smoke I like to eat (shocking I know). I find that healthy foods taste amazing when high. There is nothing like oranges, tangerines, or grapefruit when I am high. In fact citrus fruit is my favorite thing to eat when I am stoned. Natural peanut butter is also delicious macadamia nut better is even better.
Hope that helps :)
edit: I almost forgot one of the most important tips, drink tons of water.

Wow, everyone is focused on diet and hardly any on exercise. While weightlifting is good for weight loss by burning calories and adding muscle mass which helps increase your basal metabolic rate, you can't ignore aerobic exercise. You want to get in at least 20 minutes of aerobics 3 times a week to start with and depending on the exercise maybe increase it to 40 minutes or more 3 or more times a week. For me it is either the stairclimber with arm attachments or the stationary bike. In fact I need to do that as I haven't worked out in a bout 3 weeks now. So the stairclimber can burn 800-1000 calories an hour depending on the resistance I set it on and how many steps per minute. The bike is a little less.

Exercise is very important but diet is about 70% of the equation.
Another important point: it is not possible to gain muscle while in caloric deficit (which is how one losses weight). Weight training will help you maintain muscle mass and boost testosterone but you can not gain mass.

GOOD LUCK BRUDDHA! I'm stoked to hear about the results. I've been doing this shit for a while, and the results are DOPE!! hahaha
i have lost a lot of weight by just running and dont eat a healthy diet. so i dont know what the books say, but if you get cardio exercise youre going to lose weight. i was starting to get fatter than i liked so i started running and it worked, and pretty fast too, and now i actually enjoy doing it. i know a lot of people who go on diets and dont lose weight like i did. i dont eat like a pig but i dont avoid fried food, deserts sugar red meat or anything like that. honestly you can be in shape and eat what you want if you are reasonable, of course you are going to need discipline dont go on food binges. so anyway, in spite of what people are saying about diet, i have known a lot of people who say they are going to go on diets to lose weight, and they dont ever end up sticking to them, and if this is something to stick with, think about it, doing a daily workout routine is a lot easier to stick to for many many years than eating a stick of celery for dinner every night for thirty years or drinking that shitty ass carb free beer for years. at least thats how i look at it.

It just takes discipline. I have to go hungry for 3 months while doing the hardest exercise of my life to make weight for wrestling. I also have to partake on most days for medical reasons. If you want to make it easier on yourself, stop keeping junk food around the house. It's easier to not eat the calories than burn them off later.

^ yupp
its all about self-control
just because you have the mounchies doesnt mean you have to finish a whole costco-size family pack of doritos nd wash it down with a 2 liter coke LOL
theres no easy way to lose weight-> workout, go out with your friends and play some sports, control yourself when the munchies come around..its not impossible. drink alot of water...and yeah everyones already said pretty much everything already
commit yourself and your hardwork will pay off

Lots of great advice in this thread, so I can only reiterate: Eat less (or at least healthier) and do more. Take the stairs, not the elevator et al. Grapes are the perfect thing for munchies.

probably the easiest thing you can do is stop drinkin pop and sugary drinks, a can of coke has ~ 170 cals and about 44carbs, if you drink say 5 a day, like i used to thats 850 cals and 220 carbs. Switching to just diet drinks and water is an easy thing to do, and it's effective. After doing that, cleaning up my diet and working out, im down from 235 to 175, and about 11%bf from 32%. I was smokin cannabis the entire time.

^ Awesome man  I'm happy to see people following suit and cutting out unnecessary things in their diets. Sodas are bad so I switched to unsweetened ice tea with a bit of lemon and lime. That and cutting portions had me from 270 to 216 giver or take. Wait thats not true it got me form 268 to 228 maybe even 231.If you give up beef and pork you can loose even more. Went from 228 to 216 and I'm still losing. I'm just about to join a rugby league so I need to get up to 230 maybe 235 in muscle. I'm 6'6 now and I hope to be a defender wait I think, no I'm certain thats lacrosse. Hmm I've never played what are some of the positions in rugby

Watch "Supersize ME!" It will be easier after seeing it!- And eat good, from-the-earth, food. The further from Mama Nature you get, the easier it is to get in trouble! Whole grains, raw veggies and fruit can do wonders. Skip the McSalads- they can have as much artery-clogging fat as a burger! Make your own! - Granny:hippy:

Eat more small meals throughout the day like say 6 meals instead of three. But smaller is the key lol. And at night before you eat dinner eat a big salad with a light dressing (nothing creamy thats just fat ass) before you eat anything else. Lots of fiber and fills you up before you eat anything bad. And cardio is best in the AM as it gets your metabolism going for the day.

When I get the munchies I used to only eat crap...chocolate etc. But I started eating grapes, strawberries and different fruit...wow...they are great especially when ive got the munchies. Don't starve yourself! Eat regularly, just cut out the crap...add the occasional bit of exercise...nothing drastic...worked for me.

go to a local football ovel and do some shuttle runs
back in the old days my footy coach made me do lots of shuttle runs it made me fit as a fiddle
a shuttle run is when u start on the base line and run up to the next line then run back
then run to the line beyond the one you just touched
do 3 sets of 10shuttle runs every 3days
in 2weeks ull see some massive improvements

yah im hella fat, i was thinking about taking this shit called trenextreme, so i could get yoked but i looked it up and it said it was an appetite increaser so i said heck nah, but yah ive been going to the gym almost everyday now, i do upperbody at the gym oneday then i run the next day, about 30 minutes ago me and my friend were shooting hoops and then we started doing suicides, fuck those!!. im so tired but yah im not sure if ive lost weight but positive remarks have been made on my changes so im gonna keep at it, oh and my new diet includes, no soda, no fast food, and no super burritos that last one breaks my heart, but it could also stop my heart. my main problem with weightloss so far in my life has been determination but im on it this time and hopefully by the time i graduate i will be in decent shape

well im a pretty skinny guy ( 6' - 140 lbs yea i know) but what i do is weight train in the fall-winter to build muscle mass and eat a shitload. however, when spring rolls around i usually have some excess body fat so to get to that six pack i run 1-2 miles a day ( no more or you start to lose muscle mass as your body needs energy and if you are low on body fat the next option is muscle as it digests) but when i used to be semi-overweight i just watched what i ate and ran.
for what you eat its not like counting calories and shit but be more observent about what you eat (yea this is hard when high but just dont buy that huge ass bag of doritos regardless of how good they are) and run for 30 mins a day and you should thin out.
thats what worked for me, but for each person individually i highly reccomend getting a gym membership and then talk to someone there about what works for you.
also, if you run be careful not to every day or you will get runners high which SUCKS!!!(thats why i dont run in winter ) basically if you miss 1 day you feel like shit thats why you run 3-4 days a week anyways im gonna stop rambling now
oh yea DRINK WATER forgot that and 2 more things
1. its not a diet its a lifestyle change get it into habit they say it takes 21 days after that u can form habits so for 3 weeks NO EXCEPTIONS then you can set rules like 1 chocolate bar a week or something if you are careful
2. usually results take awhiel, also dont listen to the scale because usually when you start working out you gain a lot of muscle because your body is not used to all the exercise, so it can be deceieving. just go by how you see yourself after all that is what makes you truely happy (damn thats like quote worthy or something)

I lost 35 pounds keeping track of my calories on a little notepad and making sure I didn't exceed 1500. For a guy your size, this would probably be more like 17-1900. I did this for about six months, and went for daily walks of about 15-20 minutes. Nothing huge, but it worked.
I also made sure to save a lot of my calories for the evenings. I just got in the habit of packaging things up, or eyeballing it, for portion control.
Healthy munchies I like while stoned are a little granola and milk, pomegranate, and sweet potato fries (but then again, i love sweet potatoes anyway). I have a great recipe for yummy Old Bay sweet potato fries if you want it. They're waaay better than french fries, chock full of vitamin A and beta carotine, and not nasty greasy.
You can do it! Concentrate on doing it the healthy way - slow and steady wins the race. You're more likely to keep it off because it becomes habit. And you won't burn up muscle and become lethargic, either. Good luck!
