I'm about a month away from plucking my girls; they're starting to smell real funky which is making me wonder about how to conceal the stench as they dry. The only area available to me to dry is not well ventilated, but maintains good temperature/humidity levels. It's a closet 3'x5'. Will an air ionizer help with the funky smell?

sure, ionizers remove odors ... I use these in my cabinet: Air Purifiers (http://www.1000bulbs.com/products.php?cat=Air-Purifiers)
they work, they're cheap, and my two have been burning for well over a year ... the only negative, is they only work when the light is on, of course ... :smokin:

ive never really had to use an air ionizer but i do have 2 250 gal ridged plastic indoor\outdoor ponds set-up inside my gh
the water gets pumped into a water ionizer n recirulated between the 2 small ponds the ponds water is filtered before it is pumped out into self-made hydo set-up
is ionized water safe ive not any problems with it yet
it work by passing the water through an enclosed area with an uv light this water purifier kills algee found in water n grown by sunlight the koi n goldfish seem to enjoy being in clear warm water n so far my plants i havent had any problems

lol... Ionizers work great... they make everything smell weird.. like a hospitial. But it completely cancelled out the smell. And the one i had was quite old.

"how do ionizers work?... Ionizers, are built around a negative ion generator. This generator continually sends out a stream of negative ions, which are atoms or molecules that have lost an electron. These negative ions are attracted to the positive airborne dust and allergen particles in the air. As a result, the negative ions join with the positive ions which cause the particles in the ionic air to become heavy. Eventually, they fall to the floor because of their own weight which in turn removes all sorts of particles from the air."

One consideration when using ionizers is the mess they make. They are great at eliminating odors, but when the negative ions attach themselves to dust and other microscopic particles, there's only one place for it to go...straight to the floor. Just be sure to keep things clean, or you might end up with a grungy mess that can prove to be a pain to clean up.
Also, and this is just hearsay, you might want to avoid using the ionizers too close to the plants. I've heard that they can actually ionize the plants themselves, leaving them odorless, and for the most part, tasteless. THC content shouldn't be affected, though. But I know that taste has a huge impact in my enjoyment of the overall smoke.

well ya see thats is what i though too but then whats an air purfier? ya but its a low wattage light bulb does it generate negitive ions as well then so a water ionizer would send out negitive ions that would attach to positivilly charged particals containing algee sporse
i know it worik good n cleaed up the green water

Ionizers, are cheap, and do work, but not completely, I use one, and my house smells, but it STINKS if I turn it off. It's about placement, follow the instructions on ioniser placement carefully. Putting it on a shelf, with the outlets overhanging is very important and pointed toward the stinkyness, works best.

Completely agree, they will help but can't really get rid of the whole thing by themselves all too effectively if not placed in the perfect spot.
