HELP: find guide to wiring cfl's

A while back when I first wanted to grow I had this Cannabis Grow Bible (not sure if that's the exact name).

In it there were different types of light setup explained, and
included was this strip of light that had rewired CFL's. It showed
how to open the ballast on the bulb, wire it up and have it as part
of a larger circuit of lights.

If you remember seeing this anywhere, I need to know where and if
you can link to it, even better. I've been trying to think of how
I could do that before I splurge on some fatass CFL's (105W :rolleyes: )

It's just a parallel circuit. For instance, if your power cord has a black wire and a white wire, as does each light, you wire the power cord black to every black light wire, and the power cord white to every white light wire.

wall power------black---------light 1 black-----light 2 black-----etc
wall power------white---------light 1 white-----light 3 white-----etc

Does that make sense? Just look up a diagram for a parallel circuit for more information.

And a PRECAUTION!!! Make sure that the total draw of your lights (when combined) does not exceed the capacity of the power cord you wire them together with... or you might burn house down :) Basically, make sure you buy a heavy-duty, 3-prong (with ground) power cord to wire to all of your lights.

Important note: For Jah's sake, if you are planning on wiring an AC parallel circuit, use a breaker!!! If nothing else, use a power strip with a built in surge breaker. Personally, I think this is a little overkill (but people do in fact do it), because you can do the same thing without having to make the circuit yourself. And it is a lot safer. But if you really want to pack in those lumens, you can do this. I'd rather just go out and get a HPS or HID instead though. Best of luck!

Easier way to do it...
1. Go to home depot and buy a couple of weatherproof rubber sockets (Pic 1). Also get a piece of sheet metal cut to whatever size you will need and some socket splitters (Pic 2). You may also need some glue or some liquid nails also works. Pic up some wire while you are there. Make sure that it is rated for up to whatever wattage you are going to be pulling in the end.

In the end you should have something that looks like pics 3,4,5. Only with 2 more sides to it.
