hey guys, sorry i not been around for a while but i abandened my room for a year so im back and looking to improve and am here for any help and ideas you can give me and il log the rest as i go on.

k i have done hydroponics now for the last few years and was thinking of changing but now change my mind and why ruin a good thing when you should just improve. My usual setup was a ikon 18 using 2 x 600 hps but as lighting has improved then im going to upgrade to the digi balasts and also add extra lighting.

So to start my room is 8ft (w) x 7ft (h) x 12ft (l) and is a breeze block shed built out the back my house but the room is just what i have partitioned off. I have then boarded the ceiling and wall with 55mm insulation board. The roof is lined in lead and then all the walls and ceiling are then lined with
1. white/black/white
2. some lining protection againts heat signal
3. mylar

i have used this room before and have had no problems before except once when it snowed and it melted on the partition side lol but hey not too worry.

So my first question is how many lights should i use in this area and what type of system would best suit the sze of the room. I would like to try a DWC setup but would like opinions first.

also what are the best type of reflectors people are finding these days

cheers guys and gals

yours stonededly

k i was a bit slow setting up my room and had it set up about 9 weeks ago, just been to busy with work and a holiday in the dominican smoking bush for a few weeks. here's what i went with. An IWS flood and drain system. yeah i bought it, if id have had the time i would have made my own. I have also changed balasts and now have opted for digital. Any way heres what i bought. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/171/iwswe5.th.jpg (http://img227.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iwswe5.jpg)
I go to different grow shops and have used Bcuzz for quite some time and the shop has managed to talk me into trying something else called hypro so I thought id give it a shot. I started with clones from 2 mothers, one cali-x and the other big bud. After they had took root i then put the jiffy's into rock wool slabs and into a turbo tank for a week under 1 600 mh while i got the iws system set up, Then i moved them (12)each into there own 10 ltr bucket and added another 600 hps for another week. I had also planted in hypro soil 4 of the weaker clones just to see what results i get and to see what i think of it. well why not the guy in the shop gave me two sacks to try and gave me samples of the hydro nuts as well and gave me some spray for veg and cloning gel to try as well. Well the soil ones are obviously not doing as good but look really really healthy. The problem i ran into was i had a holiday booked and no one to look after my babies. My mams tops. i took a risk of leaving the hydro for a cpl of weeks and the best thing about the soil is it has no extra nuts apart from whats in the soil until 3rd week in flower, so all i had to think about was the hydro not running dry. I took the risk of the ph and the ppm's as it was just too much to ask at her age lol

Any way when i came back the ph was well out the leaves had faded colour and some were burnt at the tops as they had grown so much. I also used bud blood in the tank and use co2 tablets 20 mins before feed time(now im here again). Any way not too disastrous. NO mites any way which would have been my worst scenario. I have also added an extra 2 hps 600 digital and got rid of the mh lighting. any one recommend leaving 1 600 hps in a taking a 600 hps out, id like to know.

Any way il post some pics of them later today. they are now 21 days into flower.
